NFL Best Bets

New York Jets @ Cleveland Browns

The Jets have scored 30 points in two of their last three games. Sandwiched in between those two performances is a shutout loss to the Miami Dolphins. So, which Jets team will show up on Thursday? We expect it to be the one averaging just 15.7 points per game.

As good as the Browns have been defensively this season, they're allowing 20.7 points per game. Over the last five weeks, they're letting up over 30 points per game. Yet, the Jets' offense has been horrible against good defenses this season.

As long as Flacco takes care of the football, the defense will do enough to keep the Jets off the scoreboard. For this price, there's no reason not to take the under.

Bet: New York Jets Under 10.5 Points (+130)

NBA Best Bets

Charlotte Hornets @ Los Angeles Lakers

The Hornets (7-21) make the second stop of a six-game road trip at Crypto.com Arena against the Lakers (17-15). Charlotte has actually won two of the past three meetings, including a 134-130 win in Los Angeles on Dec. 23, 2022.

Charlotte is on an eight-game losing skid, although it is a respectable 5-4 ATS in the past nine contests overall, including 2-0 ATS in the past two as a double-digit underdog. On the flip side, as a favorite, the Lakers are 0-5 ATS in the past five games while going 5-8 ATS this season in 13 tries at home.

The Lakers are also listing PF Anthony Davis (ankle) and SF LeBron James (knee) with questionable tags, so watch that closely. If one or both are sidelined, bang the Hornets rather aggressively. If both players are in the starting five, Charlotte is still worth playing, just go a little lighter, with a half-unit wager at most.

Bet: Hornets +13 (-110)

College Football Best Bets

Oklahoma vs. Arizona (Valero Alamo Bowl)

Arizona seems to be the far more motivated team in this game, evident by the laundry list of opt-outs and transfers on the Oklahoma side. The Wildcats had two receivers net over 80 receptions on the year, with Jacob Cowing actually leading the team with 83 receptions and 11 TDs. I'm choosing him for this prop as opposed to his running mate Tetairoa McMillan, though, because McMillan's odds are priced at a much higher premium, even though he had fewer catches and TDs on the season.

With a total just shy of 60 points, this game should be an absolute shootout, and I have no doubt that QB Noah Fifita will want to put on a show. I'll take his favorite target in terms of receptions and TDs to find the end zone in this game at close to even money.

Bet: Jacob Cowing Anytime TD Scorer (-105)
