Pittsburgh Steelers @ Baltimore Ravens

Despite the Ravens resting most of their starters, I actually like them to still keep this game close with QB Tyler Huntley taking over for Lamar Jackson. Yes, they don’t care about the result of this game, but something tells me they would love to knock their AFC North rival out of playoff contention.

At the end of the day, Mason Rudolph and the Steelers will need to go into Baltimore and beat a Ravens team by more than a field goal. I’m not sure they’re capable. Even with some defensive starters out, this defense is excellent, and some of these backups could start on other teams. I’m banking on the Steelers to slip up on offense, as they haven’t put together three straight good games at any point this season.

Bet: Ravens +3.5 (-105)

Milwaukee Bucks @ San Antonio Spurs

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks (24-10) head down to the Alamo to tangle with Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs (5-28). Milwaukee will be a little on the ornery side, too, after getting swept in a home-and-home with the Indiana Pacers on Monday and Wednesday. The Bucks had won seven in a row from Dec. 11-23, but since a Christmas Day loss in New York, the Bucks are just 2-3 straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS) across the past five games.

This is the second meeting of the season, as these teams met in Cream City back on Dec. 19. Milwaukee picked up a 132-119 win, although San Antonio hung on for the cover as 16.5-point underdogs as the Over (248.5) hit. That victory came during the aforementioned seven-game win streak for the Bucks.

San Antonio held its own in that game, with six players scoring in double digits. It was also a game the rookie Wembanyama did not play in due to an ankle injury. Still, Zach Collins did well with 22 points and eight rebounds, while Keldon Johnson posted a double-double with 28 points and 12 rebounds and Jeremy Sochan flirted with a triple-double, going for nine points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. However, Damian Lillard scorched the Spurs for a game-high 40 points, while Giannis posted 11 points, 16 assists and 14 rebounds with a blocked shot.

San Antonio has covered eight of the past 10 this season, including four of the past five meetings at home. However, Milwaukee should have its way in this one, even with Wembanyama facing Giannis and company for the first time. There is no reason for bettors to “Fear the Dear.” Instead, embrace them.

Bets: Bucks -9.5 (-106)

Pittsburgh Penguins @ Boston Bruins

One of the marquee games on Thursday’s slate sends Pittsburgh to Boston to face a Bruins team that has won four consecutive games. The Penguins just dropped a home game against Washington 4-3 after going on their own three-game winning streak, so this matchup should be quite interesting to watch play out. David Pastrnak has scored two goals in three of Boston’s last four home games, while Sidney Crosby is also sitting at 21 goals and 38 points through 36 games played this season.

Pittsburgh’s goaltending has been good this season, averaging 2.67 goals allowed per game. Boston’s goaltending has been marginally better though, allowing 2.56 goals per game, while the offense continues to surge, winning by two or more goals in every game during their four-game streak.

Pittsburgh’s last five games at TD Garden after a home loss have gone over the total goals line. Plus, the Penguins have logged six total goals in four of their past five games. Once again, we’re staking a unit on over 5.5 total goals, which we don’t get too often for goal total lines. So let’s take advantage while -134 odds are available.

Bet: Over 5.5 Total Goals (-134)
