Top 3 College Basketball Odds, Picks & Predictions: Friday (11/29)

There's a full college basketball slate today, including a ranked matchup between the Ole Miss Rebels and Purdue Boilermakers. The Boilermakers are slight favorites, but should they be getting more respect? Meanwhile, the West Virginia Mountaineers will look to hand the Arizona Wildcats their fourth loss in five games, and the Gonzaga Bulldogs will battle the Davidson Wildcats.

Here are the best college basketball picks for Friday, November 29.

Ole Miss vs. Purdue

The Rebels have started the season 6-0 after defeating the BYU Cougars 96-85 in overtime yesterday. They're outscoring their opponents 83.3 to 66.7 this season, but they haven't exactly faced the best competition. While they've beaten up weak teams this season, they also have a 66-64 win over the Grambling Tigers on their resume, which is very alarming.

Meanwhile, the Boilermakers are 6-1, with an ugly 76-58 loss to the Marquette Golden Eagles. But this team also beat the Alabama Crimson Tide by nine earlier this season, and they're coming off a 71-61 win over the NC State Wolfpack.

This spread feels like a massive overreaction to the Rebels’ undefeated record. I'm not impressed with any of their wins, and the fact that they're shooting just 44.9% from the field in their first six games is alarming, considering the competition. Take the Boilermakers as small favorites in a game that could get ugly.

Pick: Purdue -4 (-110)

Arizona vs. West Virginia

The 3rd Place Game at the Bay Boy Mower Battle 4 Atlantis features two very inconsistent teams. The Wildcats are clinging to a national ranking of 24, but they're almost certainly going to drop out of the rankings after losing three of their last four games. One of those losses was to the Duke Blue Devils, but their most recent was to the Oklahoma Sooners. They lost by 15 to a Wisconsin Badgers team that is 7-0 but hasn't played great this year.

Meanwhile, the Mountaineers are coming off back-to-back overtime games. Last night, they fell 79-70 to the Louisville Cardinals, but they defeated the third-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs the night before.

The Wildcats are favored by 6.5 in this game, but that spread feels like a reward for a preseason ranking that they may not have earned. Meanwhile, the Mountaineers are playing tough right now. They may have tired legs after consecutive overtime games this early in the season, but I don't think they're three possessions worse than the Wildcats, based on what I've seen.

Pick: West Virginia +6.5 (-110)

Davidson vs. Gonzaga

The Bulldogs have topped 80 points in six of their seven games this season. While they scored only 78 in their overtime loss to West Virginia on Wednesday, they followed that performance up with an 89-73 win over the Indiana Hoosiers. This team has topped 100 twice, and they've gone over 86.5 in four of their seven contests.

The Wildcats just held the Providence Friars to 58 points, and they're allowing just 71.7 points per game. However, in the only real test they've had this season, Arizona scored 104 against them. This team also allowed 85 points to the Bowling Green Falcons. I'll avoid the massive spread and stay away from the total since the Wildcats could be shut down. Instead, I’ll take the Bulldogs to dominate a weak defense.

Pick: Gonzaga Over 86.5 Points (-110
