Tuesday’s Best College Basketball Picks
Last Week: 2-3 (40.0%, -110) | Season: 26-20 (56.5%, +437) | Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook | All picks are for 1 unit
VCU Rams (-260) at Saint Louis Billikens (+210) | O/U 142.5 (-115/-105)
The Rams (16-4, 6-1 Atlantic 10) travel to meet the Billikens (12-8, 5-2) at Chaifetz Arena with a tip time of 8 p.m. ET. The game can be viewed on CBS Sports Network.
VCU has rolled up six consecutive victories since the ball dropped to ring in 2025, and the Rams have covered four in a row while going 5-1 against the spread (ATS) since the calendar flip. That includes a 78-62 victory against Saint Louis in Richmond on Jan. 14, covering a 10-point spread as the Under (147) cashed.
Robbie Avila, a.k.a. Larry Nerd, and Isaiah Swope, each led the way with 18 points for the Billikens, while the Rams saw Joe Bamisile rack up 23 points on 8-of-17 from the field with four 3-pointers, three assists, three rebounds and a blocked shot.
Saint Louis has lost two of the past four games while going 1-3 ATS in the span. The Under has cashed in nine consecutive games since Dec. 18 for SLU, while going 15-2 across the past 17 games. You’ll certainly want to back VCU laying the points while going low on the total.
Picks: VCU -6.5 (-105) & Under 142.5 Points (-105)
San Jose State Spartans (+890) at San Diego State Aztecs (-1700) | O/U 148.5 (-110/-110)
The Spartans (10-11, 3-6 Mountain West) and the Aztecs (13-5, 6-3) meet at Viejas Arena in San Diego with a tip time of 10:40 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1.
San Diego State has won 13 consecutive games in this series since the Spartans’ last win on Feb. 7, 2017. San Jose has been red-hot against everyone else, though.
The Spartans have won three of the past four games, including a 71-70 upset against New Mexico on Jan. 14. Their last road win came on Jan. 11 at Air Force, too. The best part about the Spartans is that they’ve covered six in a row while going 15-1 ATS in the past 16 games after failing to cash the first three games of the season.
For the Aztecs, they rolled up a 69-50 win at Nevada as a 2.5-point underdog as the Under (131) cashed. San Diego State has cooled off a bit, going 3-2 SU in the past five games while going 2-3 SU, while the Under is 5-3-1 in the past nine outings.
While San Diego State has dominated this series in the win-loss department, it’s all about San Jose State covering lately. You have to ride that wave until it crashes. Take the points, and let’s go low on the total, too.
Picks: San Jose State +14.5 (-110) & Under 135.5 Points (-110)
Oregon State Beavers (+680) at Gonzaga Bulldogs (-1100) | O/U 153.5 (-106/-114)
The Beavers (16-6, 6-3 West Coast) and the Bulldogs (15-6, 6-2) meet at the McCarthey Athletic Center in Spokane, Wash., and this game can be viewed or streamed on ESPN2 and ESPN+ at 11 p.m. ET.
These teams met for their first-ever conference clash in Corvallis on Jan. 16, and it was a barn burner. Oregon State posted a 97-89 victory in overtime, winning outright as a 9-point underdog as the Over (151) easily cashed.
Gonzaga hit 42% from the field (30-of-72) from the field, and 36% (9-of-25) from behind the 3-point line, while posting a plus-10 rebounding margin. Graham Ike was good for 26 points and nine rebounds before fouling out, while Ben Gregg (15 points, 13 rebounds) and Ryan Nembhard (13 points, 10 assists) each had double-doubles.
Oregon State was much more impressive from the floor, going 58% (31-of-53), including 43% (6-of-14) from downtown. The Beavers had five players hit double digits, including 20 points from Nate Kingz, while knocking down three 3-pointers.
The Beavers have covered six of the past seven games while cashing the Over in six in a row, and 10 of the past 11 games. For the Zags, they’re 1-4 ATS in the past five outings, while going 2-11 ATS in the past 13 outings, while hitting the Over in five of the past six. You know we have to back Oregon State catching these points while going Over.
Picks: Oregon State +13.5 (-110) & Over 153.5 Points (-106)
