Top 3 MLB Player Prop Bet Odds & Picks: Wednesday (4/24)

While a couple of games are playing early, most of tonight’s MLB slate will be at night.

I’m eying a few matchups that I’m ready to attack with this MLB slate. So here are three of my favorite player props for April 24th in the MLB.

Wednesday’s Best MLB Player Props

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

C.J. Abrams Over 1.5 Total Bases (-105)

Landon Knack will make his second start of his career for the Dodgers. Knack is a right-handed thrower who struggled against lefties in his first start.

He gave up a .300 ISO and a wOBA of .496, with only 18.2% strikeouts and more than 9% walks.

Knack has plenty of potential as he’s one of Los Angeles’ top prospects. But even the top prospects struggle when they first get into the MLB.

Meanwhile, he’ll have to face C.J. Abrams of the Nationals, a left-handed hitter at the top of the order. Since last season, Abrams has hit a .209 ISO and woBA of .349 with just 17.6% strikeouts against righties. He can earn two hits but can also stretch out a base hit into a double with his legs. Abrams figures to have at least four at-bats, if not five.

Matt Olson Over 1.5 Total Bases (+125)

It’s cool to see Sixto Sanchez back on the mound. However, against his first 13 lefties, Sanchez allowed a .273 ISO and a .473 woBA, with 7.7% strikeouts.

It’s going to take some time for Sanchez to get acclimated again.

He’s in line to face Matt Olson of the Braves, who has smoked right-handed pitching since last season. Against his last 589 righties, Olson has socked a .338 ISO and wOBA of .439 with only 22.1% of strikeouts.

Sanchez has allowed 37% of fly balls. He’s also earned just 7.1% swinging strikes against lefties so far this season. While it’s clearly a small sample size, Olson is one of the best power hitters in the MLB against righties. I’ll take my chances.

Cal Raleigh Over 1.5 Total Bases (+110)

Jon Gray will pitch for the Texas Rangers tonight. Gray has struggled badly against lefties to begin the season, but this is nothing new. He was also bad against lefties last season.

This year, he’s watched his first 43 lefties hit a .222 ISO and wOBA of .391. While Gray has earned 30.2% of strikeouts, he’s also allowed 34.8% of fly balls to lefties.

Not every lefty has made contact against Gray. But when the lefty has, it’s been hard contact most of the time. Gray has allowed 87% of hard contact to lefties to begin the season. That’s absolutely absurd.

The Mariners have a lot of hard-contact hitters in their lineup. The one that stands out the most is Cal Raleigh. He’ll bat left-handed and has hit more fly balls than ground balls against righties since last season. In addition, Raleigh has smoked 56.8% of hard contact with a 13.6% barrel percentage against righties.

This is a fun matchup for the red-hot Raleigh.
