Wednesday’s Best MLB Player Prop Bets

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Emerson Hancock Under 4.5 Ks (-135)

The Mariners will throw Emerson Hancock for today’s early matchup against the Braves. Hancock has only struck out 17.3% of batters to begin the season. He’s also allowed a .333 ISO and wOBA of .399 to his first 51 righties as a right-handed pitcher.

In the Atlanta lineup, Hancock figures to face more righties than lefties. He’ll also face a Braves lineup that has struck out just 21.3% of the time against righties since last season.

The lineup has Austin Riley, Marcell Ozuna and Jarred Kelenic, who have all struck out high rates against righties. But besides those three, the Braves don’t have any serious targets. Plus, Riley and Ozuna have more potential to hit some really hard shots off Hancock today.

Let’s take the Under here.

Jake Cronenworth Over 1.5 Total Bases (+140)

The Padres don’t have many intriguing lefties in their lineup, but against Graham Ashcraft, lefties always pop off the page. Ashcraft is a righty for the Reds, who has already allowed a .259 ISO and wOBA of .409 to his first 61 lefties. He’s also allowed nearly 30% of line drive contact and has struck out just 18% of lefties to begin the season.

Meanwhile, Jake Cronenworth should bat third in today’s game. He’s hit a .170 ISO and wOBA of .325 with only 16% of strikeouts against righties since last season. In addition, since last season, Cronenworth has limited ground balls to below 37% and has hit nearly 31% of fly balls against righties. He’s also added 27.1% of line drives against righties and has a hard-hit percentage of 42.1%.

On the other hand, Ashcraft has allowed 48.9% of hard-hit balls against lefties and has only added 6.6% of swinging strikes against southpaws this year.

What’s even better is Ashcraft has kept walks down. He’s only walked 4.9% of lefties, meaning there’s a much higher chance Cronenworth puts the ball in play against Ashcraft to get those two total bases.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105)

Dakota Hudson will pitch for the Colorado Rockies tonight. Hudson is a right-handed pitcher who has allowed a .200 ISO and a wOBA of 373 to his first 49 lefties this season. Hudson has also struck out only 16.3% of lefties and has allowed 40.6% of fly balls.

Meanwhile, the Marlins don’t have the most exciting lineup, but Jazz Chisholm Jr. is someone to watch. Since last year, Chisholm Jr. has hit a .232 ISO and wOBA of .363 against righties. He’s also hit a 50.2% hard contact rate and has a 16% barrel percentage. Beyond that, Chisholm Jr. has smashed 32% of fly balls and has a BABIP of .350 against righties.

I’ll take Chisholm Jr. to get at least two bases tonight.
