Top 3 MLB Player Prop Bet Odds & Picks: Wednesday (Dodgers vs. Padres)

The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres will play a two-game series in Seoul, South Korea, to kick off the MLB regular season.

While Opening Day doesn’t begin until March 28 for most teams, the Dodgers and Padres will play their first two games in South Korea, which will count towards their regular season records. These are real games!

However, because these games are being played in South Korea, the start times for both games on Wednesday and Thursday are 6:05 am ET.

I’ve added multiple player props to fire on for the first game of the series on Wednesday morning.

Tyler Glasnow Over 6.5 Strikeouts (+115)

Tyler Glasnow has struck out 14 batters in ten innings pitched in three games this spring. He’s got a WHIP of .70 and an ERA of .90.

Glasnow looks terrific heading into the season and was nabbed as the No. 1 starter on the Dodgers.

Last year, he only threw 120 innings with the Tampa Bay Rays. But in those 120 innings, Glasnow struck out 33.4% of batters. He also added 17.2% of swinging strikes and added more than 34% of called strikes and whiffs.

Meanwhile, the Padres don’t have much of a scary lineup anymore. Juan Soto is on the Yankees and no longer with San Diego. So now the bottom portion of the lineup is just a bunch of average hitters like Luis Campusano, Jurickson Profar, Eguy Rosario, etc.

The strikeouts will come easy for Glasnow.

Yu Darvish Over 4.5 Hits Allowed (-120)

Yu Darvish didn’t have the most successful 2023 with the Padres last year. He finished 8-10 with a 4.56 ERA and a WHIP of 1.30 in 136.1 innings.

Darvish is getting older. He’s currently 37 and has seen some serious decline. Last year, he struck out 24.6% of batters and only earned 11.7% of swinging strikes.

To begin 2024, he’ll have to face a deadly lineup that includes Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, and other powerful hitters. Freeman has nine hits in 31 at-bats against Darvish, while Betts has six hits in 33 at-bats. Max Muncy also has seven hits in 31 at-bats against Darvish.

Freddie Freeman Over 1.5 Total Bases (-115)

Freddie Freeman is going to have a field day this year. He’s batting behind Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani and will likely earn a ridiculous amount of RBIs by being behind those two hitters.

Freeman has a .418 wOBA against Darvish in 34 plate appearances. He’s also got a .290 batting average with three home runs, two doubles, and only seven strikeouts in 34 plate appearances.

He’s positioned for a big year, and it’ll start in Game 1.
