Wednesday’s Best MLB Player Prop Bets

    (Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Hunter Brown Over 6.5 Ks (+125)

The Astros must win today to stay alive in the American League Wild Card against the Tigers. They’ll throw Hunter Brown, a right-handed pitcher who has added 31.1% of strikeouts against lefties over the last month.

Brown has also held lefties to a .073 ISO and wOBA of .227 and has limited walks to below 9%.

He’ll likely take on a Detroit lineup that will have at least six lefties. Those six lefties have struck out 23.1% of the time over the last month. Meanwhile, the other three righties have also struck out 27.4% of the time against righties.

There’s a good chance Brown gets deep in this game against the Tigers. After all, Detroit hasn’t consistently shown much power against righties over the last month using this projected lineup. There are at least five batters with a high strikeout rate, and Brown is good enough to put away other batters with lower strikeout rates.

Take Brown to go Over 6.5 Ks today.

Michael Massey Over 1.5 Total Bases (+130)

Michael Massey should end up leading things off for the Royals today. He’s a left-handed hitter who has added a .190 ISO and wOBA of .334 with only 16.9% of strikeouts against righties over the last month.

He’ll battle Zach Eflin of the Orioles, who has watched his last 59 lefties hit a .245 ISO and wOBA of .325 with 31.8% of line drives and just 38.6% of ground balls induced.

Those lefties have hit a 15.9% barrel percentage and have added more than 43% of hard contact against Eflin over the last 30 days.

Conversely, Massey has hit 55.3% of hard contact against righties in the last 30 days and has drilled 42.6% of fly balls with an above-average barrel percentage. Take Massey to earn at least two total bases today.

Francisco Lindor Over 1.5 Total Bases (+100)

In the last month, Francisco Lindor has hit a .306 ISO and wOBA of .455 with only 18.5% of strikeouts against righties. He’s also hit 53.8% of hard contact and 30.8% of fly balls, with 28.2% of line drives and a 12.8% barrel percentage.

He’s carried the Mets into the postseason and now has a really good matchup to push them into the next round tonight.

He’ll take on Frankie Montas of the Brewers, who has allowed a .333 ISO and wOBA of .413 to his last 50 lefties. Montas has struck out 42% of lefties, but he’s giving up bullets when he’s not getting strikeouts.

Montas has given up a 28.6% barrel percentage to lefties over the last 30 days and has allowed a 57.1% hard contact rate. He’s even allowed nearly 29% of line drives to lefties.

Look for Lindor to take advantage as a switch-hitter who will bat left-handed.
