Friday's Best MLB Player Prop Bets

    (Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Osvaldo Bido Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-148)

Osvaldo Bido only struck out 18.2% of his first 22 batters this season. However, he struck out 24.4% of batters last season and totaled 28.1% of strikeouts against righties last year.

Bido will face a Rockies lineup that has struck out 27.4% of the time against righties dating back to last year. In that lineup, there should be more righties than lefties. The projected righties have combined to strike out 28% of the time against other righties since last season.

Ultimately, the Rockies’ lineup has just one player who has struck out below 23.6% against righties since the start of last year. Bido has eight very good targets and some analytics to back up his strikeout numbers. Let’s take him to add at least five strikeouts against the Rockies, even in Coors Field.

Corbin Carroll Over 1.5 Total Bases (-110)

Corbin Carroll will hit in the lead-off spot for the Arizona Diamondbacks today. He’s a left-handed batter who has hit a .206 ISO and wOBA of .341 against his last 489 righties.

He’s only struck out 17.6% of the time during that span and has hit 51.3% of hard contact with 39.2% of ground balls and 23.6% of line drives.

He’ll battle Jake Irvin of the Washington Nationals. Ultimately, Irvin allowed a .208 ISO and wOBA of .333 to 397 lefties last season. Against 12 lefties this year, Irvin has already given up a .364 ISO and wOBA of .561 with 44.4% of line drives.

Look for Carroll to take advantage with some line drives against Irvin. Take his over.

Max Meyer Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-113)

The Marlins will throw Max Meyer out against the struggling Atlanta Braves.

Meyer only earned 18.5% of strikeouts against 249 batters last season. But it looks like he’s about to break out this year. In his first start of the season, Meyer struck out 30.4% of batters and walked just 4.3%. He also limited those 23 batters to a .293 wOBA with only 13.3% of line drives.

Meanwhile, he’ll face a Braves lineup that has struck out 23% of the time against righties since last season. There are five batters in the Atlanta order that have struck out at least 23.8% of the time against righties.

Meyer has five targets and will likely face those targets at least twice each. In addition, the Braves’ projected lineup has seven batters who have struck out more than 20% of the time against righties since last year. I’m on Meyer to add at least five strikeouts tonight.
