Sunday’s Best MLB Player Prop Bets
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Ben Brown Under 4.5 Strikeouts (+125)
Ben Brown has put up a 26.2% strikeout rate and 15% swinging-strike rate this season, but there are a couple of factors in our favor with this wager.
For one, the Cubs righty has a tough matchup versus the Padres, who have posted an elite 15.2% strikeout rate and a 10.5% SwStr% against righties heading into Sunday’s action. This is because San Diego has several hitters who can consistently put the ball in play, such as Luis Arraez, Xander Bogaerts and Jackson Merrill.
It also helps that Brown has maxed out at 75 pitches so far this season. Even if we see a longer leash on the young righty, it’s unlikely he gets more than 90 pitches. When you consider that we’re getting a nice price, you come away liking the under in this difficult spot for Brown.
Kumar Rocker Under 4.5 Strikeouts (-115)
Kumar Rocker looked shaky in his season debut against the Reds, lasting only three innings with three strikeouts.
This is a young pitcher who struggled in spring training as well, posting a 9.00 ERA in 13 innings. It’s unlikely we’re going to see a lot of strikeouts against the Rays, who have put up an 18.7% strikeout rate and an 11% SwStr% coming into Sunday.
We saw Tampa make it tough on high-strikeout pitchers like Paul Skenes (six strikeouts in seven innings) and Jacob deGrom (three strikeouts in 5.2 innings) in recent matchups. We’re getting a reasonable price on a struggling pitcher here, so let’s ride with the under in this spot.
Jackson Jobe Over 1.5 Walks (-115)
Jackson Jobe has struggled with command in both the Majors and Minors. The Tigers righty posted a 12% walk rate in 91.2 innings in the Minors last season. That has continued in the big leagues, where he’s walked five batters in eight innings between 2024-25, including four against the Mariners in his first start of the year.
While the White Sox are a favorable matchup on paper, they’ve done a good job drawing walks so far this season, registering a 9.1% walk rate coming into Sunday. We just saw Reese Olson rack up three walks against this team.
Bet on Jobe to continue to struggle to find the strike zone in this spot. You have to like these odds on over 1.5 walks on a pitcher that has posted double-digit walk rates in the Minors.
