Top 3 NBA Betting Picks for Friday, February 25th (2022)

The NBA is back to the regular season after the All-Star break. That means this is a time for bettors to pay close attention to teams. The All-Star break means the players get rest, the rosters are final, and the dynamic of the NBA can shift. Teams that had trades close to the deadline get their chemistry over the next week or two, and that can make a whole new team versus what we saw before the All-Star break. Tonight we find a few teams that will gain value in the second half of the season.

Toronto Raptors -2.5 -110 at Draftkings Sportsbook

The Toronto Raptors were one of the hottest teams going into the All-Star break. They are 7-2 in February and had quality wins against the Heat and the Bulls. Tonight the Raptors play the Hornets. I have been preaching this all year: The Hornets play poorly against good defenses. They are young and struggle against the upper defensive teams in the league. The Raptors aren't the best defense in the league, but they are in the upper half of the NBA defensively. The way the Raptors are playing right now and since they are a better defensive team, they have the advantage.

Houston Rockets Moneyline +155 at Draftkings Sportsbook

Houston is a team that I usually avoid at all costs, but tonight is the battle of the worst teams in the NBA, Houston vs. Orlando. The Rockets have the better talent in this matchup. They are a young squad that make mistakes, but they have players who flash potential. Jalen Green, Christian Wood, and Jae'Sean Tate all look like they could grow into solid NBA pieces. Orlando has young talent, too. They lack scoring outside of Cole Anthony. With these two teams, anything can happen. They tend to both make big mistakes, which means this is a matchup either team can win, but Houston has the betting value.

Miami Heat -5 -110 at Draftkings Sportsbook

The Miami Heat are only getting. They have plenty of depth and haven't been healthy all season. Players are coming off injuries, and they have plenty of veteran experience. When everyone is playing, the Heat are a top-three team in the NBA. The Heat play a New York Knicks team frustrated with this season. The Knicks thought they would have a good season after last year. That has caused disappointment for a team now missing Kemba Walker, RJ Barrett, Derrick Rose, and Nerlens Noel. The Knicks are inconsistent enough with everyone healthy. This game is one that the Heat have a clear advantage.
