Philadelphia Phillies @ St. Louis Cardinals

The Phillies will send out Zack Wheeler for tonight’s showdown against the Cardinals. Wheeler has already thrown in two games and has a .75 ERA in 12 innings. He’s also struck out 15 batters and currently has a WHIP of .83.

He’s in line to face a Cardinals lineup that has only hit a .142 ISO and wOBA of .288 against righties this season. Only Brendan Donovan, Nolan Gorman, and Willson Contreras have had success against righties this year. But we don’t even know if Contreras will be healthy enough to play.

Wheeler had also walked just one batter this season and saw his strikeout rate really rise in his second start against the Reds when he earned ten strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Sonny Gray will make his season debut tonight. Gray was terrific last season, holding teams to a .098 ISO and wOBA of .278 in 798 plate appearances. Gray also earned 24.4% of strikeouts and walked just 7.3% of batters. While we can’t expect Gray to go deep in this game, if he gives the Cardinals five quality innings, it’ll put us in a great spot to hit the Under.

Using their projected lineup, the Phillies have hit a .292 wOBA against righties this season. So we’ll absolutely roll with the Under in this one.

Bet: Under 7.5 (-115)

Tampa Bay Rays @ Los Angeles Angels

Aaron Civale has a 1.50 ERA with the Tampa Bay Rays in two starts. He’s thrown 12 innings and struck out 14 while holding a .92 WHIP. Civale has never been a high-strikeout pitcher, but he’s really developed with the Rays and is off to an incredible start this season.

Civale has thrown six innings in both starts and has only allowed one earned run in each of them. He’s also tallied at least six strikeouts in both games.

Tonight, he’ll take on an Angels lineup that has struck out 29% of the time against righties, dating back to last season. He should dominate against the Angels.

On the other hand, left-hander Patrick Sandoval will get the start for the Angels. Sandoval hasn’t had the same success as Civale. He’s thrown just 7.1 innings in two starts and has a 1.91 WHIP with a 6.14 ERA.

He was better in his second start against the Marlins, allowing just two runs with seven strikeouts in 5.2 innings. However, the Rays find ways to get on base against lefties. Seven of the batters in the Tampa Bay lineup have hit a wOBA of at least .336 against lefties since last season.

The Rays match up better, so let’s take the Rays at -125 on the road.

Bet: Rays (-125)
