Friday's NBA Best Bets

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Phoenix Suns (-4.5) at Indiana Pacers  | O/U 243.5 (-110/-110)

Questions loomed for the Suns as they struggled early in the season, but as we reach the halfway point, they are making a charge. The team is coming in winning seven straight, and have made their way out of the Play-In Tournament. The big three have proven to work well, with Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker each averaging over 21 points during the winning streak, with Booker averaging 31.

The question was if the Pacers could stay afloat without Tyrese Haliburton. At the moment, it's not looking good. They have lost five of their last seven and are just 1-2 without Haliburton, including dropping one against Phoenix. There is optimism as Pascal Siakam recorded a triple-double (26 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists) in his Pacers debut.

The Suns were able to grab the seven-point win at home on Sunday, and with the spread at just 4.5, it is drastically under-estimated how good they are playing, even if it's a road game.

Pick: Suns -4.5 (-114)

Cleveland Cavaliers at Milwaukee Bucks (-5.5)  | O/U 238 (-110/-110)

Tonight, we should see the debut of Doc Rivers on the bench for the Bucks. Milwaukee's first game without Adrian Griffin was Wednesday against these Cavaliers as Giannis Antetokounmpo delivered a triple-double (35 points, 18 rebounds, 10 assists) in the win. We know the Bucks’ offense is great, as they're averaging the most points, but the reason for the coaching change is that the defense has been abysmal and is 25th in points allowed.

The Cavs don't have that problem, as they are second in points allowed. Offensively, that is where their problems lie, as they're 19th in points scored per game. That loss snapped a nine-game winning streak, but they only faced Milwaukee and one other team above .500 in that time.

You saw a different Bucks team Wednesday and they looked rejuvenated. Milwaukee cruised in the last game, never trailing, and should easily grab another win on Friday night.

Pick: Bucks -5.5 (-112)

Dallas Mavericks (-1.5) at Atlanta Hawks  | O/U 243.5 (-110/-110)

If the Mavericks want to get through the Western Conference, they must make some moves before the trade deadline. They are one of the heaviest three-point shooting teams in the league, but they're just average in three-point shooting percentage. They also have no defense, and injuries leave them without much depth.

The Hawks and Mavs will always be connected as they swapped Trae Young and Luka Doncic during the NBA Draft. Neither team has seen success in terms of a championship, but Atlanta has had less success in terms of playoff runs. It doesn't look like the Hawks will even make the playoffs this year because they're barely holding onto the ten seed for a spot in the Play-In Tournament.

These teams are in the top eight in offense but are both in the bottom tenth in points allowed. Both are fast-paced, and this total is set too low for what these offenses are capable of.

Pick: Over 243.5 (-110)
