Denver Nuggets vs. Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers are coming off a 124-115 win over the Houston Rockets last night. Joel Embiid scored 41 points in his return to the court. While it sounds like he’ll play in the second game of the back-to-back, the Denver Nuggets have four starters listed as game-time decisions.

That said, I don’t think the Nuggets will miss anyone but Julian Strawther, who typically comes off the bench.

The Nuggets have scored 119.5 points per 100 possessions this year. They’ve also nailed an effective field goal percentage of 56.8%. But they’re facing a 76ers squad that has limited teams to 112.2 points per 100 possessions and an effective field goal percentage of under 53%.

Denver should have success on the offensive glass, which will help earn second-chance points. However, the Nuggets aren’t always getting to the foul line at a high rate.

The 76ers are among the best teams at getting to the foul line. They’re also really good at limiting turnovers and score 120.4 points per 100 possessions.

Philadelphia won’t win the rebounding battle and likely won’t get higher-quality looks with an effective field goal percentage of 54.7%.

Like the 76ers, Denver is also on a two-game winning streak. It won’t be easy on the road, but if you give me 3.5 points with the Nuggets, I’ll take it.

Bet: Nuggets +3.5 (-110)

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Clippers

Ivica Zubac has already been ruled out for this contest against the Thunder. Therefore, we can expect Daniel Theis to get the start in his place for the Clippers.

The Thunder are already poor on the offensive glass. Having Theis out there instead of Zubac likely won’t hurt the Los Angeles defense much.

Still, the Thunder have scored 121.3 points per 100 possessions and have added a 58.1% effective field goal percentage. On top of that, the Thunder have limited turnovers to 12.1% and have added a 21.1 free throw rate. The Thunder have been one of the most consistent offenses in the NBA.

However, the Clippers rank in the top ten in points per 100 possessions and effective field goal percentage defensively. They’ll still give up a lot of free throws and won’t force turnovers regularly.

On the other hand, the Thunder are really weak on the defensive glass and foul at a very high rate. The Clippers should get to the foul line more often, but Oklahoma City will still limit good looks against the Clippers, as the Thunder have held teams to 112.2 points per 100 possessions this season.

The difference in this game will be the effort plays. The rebounding and getting to the foul line. Both teams play great defense and limit good looks. However, the Clippers will dominate the glass, even without Zubac. It’s also the Clippers who will see the foul line more often.

Back the Clippers at -5.5 at home.

Bet: Clippers -5.5 (-110)
