Utah Jazz vs. New York Knicks
The Utah Jazz and New York Knicks will play in their second game in as many days tonight.
The Jazz just lost to the Nets, 147-114, while the Knicks added a 113-92 win over the Charlotte Hornets.
Utah is in the middle of a long road trip, which showed last night. They turned the ball over 17 times and allowed the Nets to get up to as many as 35 points in the loss.
On the other hand, the Knicks added their 30th win with a near-20-point victory on the road. Julius Randle is out with a dislocated shoulder, and OG Anunoby also sat out with right elbow inflammation. Still, Jalen Brunson took over and helped lead the Knicks in that game.
The Jazz ultimately dominate the offensive glass, earning 32.2% of offensive rebounds. But those second chances likely wonât come as often, as the Knicks have allowed only 24.8% of offensive rebounds per game this season. Utah is also dead last in turnover percentage, giving up the ball 15.7% of the time. The Knicks should capitalize on some of the Jazzâs mistakes.
On the other hand, the Knicks have added 32.5% of offensive rebounds. Thatâs the best rate in the NBA. With the Jazz allowing 27.2% of offensive rebounds, New York figures to add more second-chance points in this one. Letâs grab the Knicks at -4.5 at home.
Bet: Knicks -4.5 (-110)
Toronto Raptors vs. Chicago Bulls
Itâs been an ugly couple of weeks for the Raptors. Toronto has fallen to 16-30 and has lost its last five games.
The losing streak began against the Bulls at home in a 116-110 defeat. Chicago used 23+ points from DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic, and Coby White to escape on the road.
Since that win, the Bulls are 2-2, but most recently won their game against the Portland Trail Blazers on the road. The Bulls are trying to scrape their way back into playoff contention, just three games away from .500.
Toronto is typically good at keeping turnovers down. However, the Bulls have added 14.6% of turnovers. Chicago forced 14 turnovers against the Raptors in that earlier game. If they can do that again, the Bulls will have a very good shot at winning tonightâs game.
On the other hand, the Bulls canât expect to get to the foul line much in this one. The Raptors are among the best teams at limiting opportunities at the foul line. However, the Bulls should have more success on the offensive glass and will win the turnover battle again, knowing the Raptors only earn 13.4% of turnovers per game this season.
Chicago doesnât always take the best looks from the field. However, theyâll get more second-chance points and ultimately score more points in the paint.
Iâm on the Bulls at -6.5.
Bet: Bulls -6.5 (-110)
