Top NBA Odds, Picks, & Predictions: Tuesday (10/31)

We’ve got a three-game slate in the NBA tonight. While the Magic and Clippers will play on local stations, TNT will have a doubleheader throughout the night with two other games.

The Knicks-Cavaliers matchup will get us started as a standalone game. After that, we’ll get the Spurs-Suns as the late-night second game on TNT.

Below are the best bets for these exciting matchups.

New York Knicks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavaliers are already struggling with injuries to begin the year. Jarrett Allen and Darius Garland won’t play in tonight’s game. Meanwhile, Donovan Mitchell is considered a game-time decision.

Although Garland has only played one game this season, the Cavaliers are the best team in the NBA at limiting turnovers. They’ve only turned the ball over 10% of the time this season and should keep it that way against a Knicks defense that has earned 13.4% of turnovers per game.

Cleveland doesn’t get to the line often and will likely struggle to win many offensive rebounds against the Knicks, who have only allowed 17.5% of offensive rebounds this season.

On the other hand, the Knicks are shooting an effective field goal percentage of 48.4%. That’s 28th in the NBA, which isn’t appealing. However, the Knicks have been more active on the offensive glass and will likely get more second-chance points, along with more free throw attempts.

Therefore, I’ll back the healthy Knicks at -2.5 on the road.

Bet: Knicks -2.5 (-110)

San Antonio Spurs vs. Phoenix Suns

Once again, Bradley Beal and Devin Booker will not play in tonight’s game for the Suns. Even without those two, the Suns have been the best defense in the NBA.

Phoenix has held teams to 100.3 points per 100 possessions while keeping teams to a 45.5% effective field goal percentage.

With the Spurs turning the ball over 19.5% of the time, Phoenix will have plenty of opportunities to earn turnovers. The Spurs could see the foul line at a higher rate, with the Suns allowed a 22.2 free throw rate. But getting quality shots up will still be a real challenge.

On the other hand, the Suns have earned 30.9% of offensive rebounds this season. That’s good for 7th in the NBA. With the Spurs allowing 29% of offensive rebounds this season, the Suns figure to be active and efficient on the offensive glass.

The Suns have shot a 52.4% effective field goal percentage through three games. That’s about average, but, with the Spurs giving up a 57% effective field goal percentage, Kevin Durant and the rest of the Suns should do well offensively.

I’ll back the Suns at -7.5 here.

Bet: Suns -7.5 (-110)
