Dallas Mavericks vs. Brooklyn Nets

The Dallas Mavericks have Kyrie Irving back in the lineup. In his first game since January 22, Irving added 23 points with eight assists and five rebounds in a win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

It’s unclear if he’ll play in the back-to-back game against the Nets, but it appears as though he will at this moment.

The Mavericks have added 118.7 points per 100 possessions and rank 8th in the NBA in effective field goal percentage. What stands out the most for Dallas is its ability to limit turnovers. That’s crucial, with the Nets only averaging 12.4% of turnovers per game.

The Mavericks won’t be super active on the offensive glass but will get many shot attempts with the turnovers down.

On the other hand, the Nets have Ben Simmons, Cameron Johnson, and Lonnie Walker IV listed as game-time decisions. The offense doesn’t shoot a better effective field goal percentage but should dominate the offensive glass for second chances. The Nets have added 28.1% of offensive rebounds, while Dallas has given up 29.1% of offensive rebounds.

We won’t see the Nets at the foul line much, but the second chances will surely add up. Therefore, I’m on the Over in tonight’s matchup.

Bet: Over 236.5 (-105)

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Phoenix Suns

The Milwaukee Bucks have been a disappointment since Doc Rivers took over. It’s a work in progress, but that’s not where the Bucks want to be in the middle of the regular season.

The Bucks have time to work around their struggles. They’re sitting at 33-17 and near the top of the Eastern Conference. The offense is still really good, scoring 120.7 points per 100 possessions. The Bucks also do well at limiting turnovers, getting to the foul line at a high rate, and shooting a 57.7% effective field goal percentage, which is 4th best in the league.

The Suns should ultimately hold the Bucks off the offensive glass but won’t earn many turnovers.

On the other hand, Phoenix’s offense is similar to Milwaukee’s. The Suns have added 120.2 points per 100 possessions and get to the foul line even more. While the Suns turn the ball over nearly 15% of the time, the Bucks have only averaged 11.7% of turnovers.

With Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard listed as game-time decisions, I’m backing the Suns at home against the spread.

The Bucks aren’t on the same page defensively, allowing at least 113 points in each game Doc Rivers has coached.

Bet: Suns -3.5 (-115)
