Dallas Mavericks vs. San Antonio Spurs

The Dallas Mavericks still have Luka Doncic listed as a game-time decision for tonight’s game against the Spurs. However, Doncic played 40 minutes on Sunday and scored 37 points with ten rebounds. He’ll likely play.

Doncic has also seen his MVP chances rise over the last couple of weeks. The Mavericks returned to their winning ways with a win over Denver, 107-105.

However, the offense hasn’t been great over the last three games. The turnovers are getting high, and the Mavericks scored no more than 111.8 points per 100 possessions in two of those three games. They’ve also struggled to reach the foul line at a high rate but have been solid on the offensive glass. Against the Nuggets, for example, Dallas earned nearly 42% of offensive rebounds. That was the X factor that helped them win against the Nuggets.

On the other hand, the defense has played better. In back-to-back games last week, Dallas held the Bulls and Warriors to below 100 points each.

They’ll face a Spurs squad that has also struggled offensively. The Spurs haven’t scored more than 112 points per 100 possessions in four consecutive games. They’re an inexperienced team that continues to turn the ball over at a very high rate. However, the defense has limited foul shots well and has been able to keep teams off the glass on the defensive end.

That said, we’ll roll with the Under 231.5 (-105) in this one. Neither offense has been appealing.

Bet: Under 231.5 (-105)

Denver Nuggets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

The Nuggets have been a little bit more inconsistent offensively as of late. They are coming off that loss against Dallas after scoring just 105 points on the road. The Nuggets limited turnovers well but added just 17.4% of offensive rebounds. The lack of rebounds on the offensive end is a trend for the Nuggets, as it is not getting to the foul line at a high rate.

Denver relies on getting good shots and keeping the turnovers down offensively.

On defense, the Nuggets continue to force tough shots. They’ll get beat on the glass sometimes and aren’t always reliable enough to force many turnovers.

They’ll take on the Minnesota Timberwolves, who have added three consecutive wins. Minnesota was on the road for multiple weeks and will finally get a home game tonight. However, it’s looking less likely that Rudy Gobert will be on the court for Minnesota tonight. He didn’t play against Utah yesterday due to a rib injury and is questionable for today.

Without one of the best defensive players in the NBA, the Timberwolves struggled on the defensive glass, allowing the Jazz to earn 31.8% of offensive rebounds. Utah also hit a 55.4% effective field goal percentage against the Timberwolves.

That said, we’ll back the Nuggets at -7.5.

Bet: Nuggets -7.5 (-110)
