Phoenix Suns vs. Dallas Mavericks

The Phoenix Suns struggled to get their best players on the floor together earlier in the season. That won’t be the case tonight. Instead, the Dallas Mavericks have listed Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving as questionable for tonight’s game.

The Suns are above average offensively, scoring 119.3 points per 100 possessions. They’ve also earned a 25.3 free throw rate and have shot a 56.1% effective field goal percentage. Beyond that, Phoenix has dominated the glass, earning 28.8% of offensive rebounds.

That should continue against Dallas. The Mavericks have allowed 29.6% of offensive rebounds and have given up a below-average 117.7 points per 100 possessions.

Meanwhile, Dallas isn’t nearly as good at getting to the foul line and won’t earn as many second chances as the Suns. The Mavericks typically limit turnovers and shoot a solid, effective field goal percentage of 56.2%. However, the Suns have limited teams to a 54.2% effective field goal percentage and have ultimately played better defense.

I’d back the Suns even with Irving and Doncic playing. If one sits out, that’s even better.

Bet: Suns -1.5 (-110)

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs

This is one of the few times when the San Antonio Spurs will be broadcast nationally. The Spurs will take on the Thunder in an exciting battle between Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren.

The Thunder should dominate offensively. They’ve scored 121 points per 100 possessions and have shot a 57.9% effective field goal percentage while limiting turnovers to 12.1%. Oklahoma City won’t earn a high rate of offensive rebounds but should shoot the ball lights out.

San Antonio has allowed 119.5 points per 100 possessions and an effective field goal percentage of 56.5%. The Spurs don’t even earn a high rate of turnovers.

On the other hand, it’s more of the same. The Spurs don’t shoot it well, while the Thunder defend very well. Oklahoma City has limited teams to a 52.6% effective field goal percentage and earned the highest percentage of turnovers in the league defensively.

The Spurs have scored just 110.7 points per 100 possessions and have shot an effective field goal percentage of 53.3%. They’ve also struggled on the glass and don’t earn many second chances, with only 24.6% of offensive rebounds. It’s also hard for the Spurs to consistently get to the foul line.

Although the Thunder aren’t good on the defensive glass either, winning the rebounding battle against the Spurs will be easier.

With the Spurs giving up 14.2% of turnovers on offense, let’s grab the Thunder to cover the 6.5-point spread.

Bet: Thunder -6.5 (-110)
