Toronto Raptors vs. Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards are one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA. They’ve given up 123.5 points per 100 possessions and have allowed a league-high 57.7% effective field goal percentage defensively.

On top of that, Washington has given up 32% of offensive rebounds and will likely get beat on the glass plenty of times against the Raptors.

Toronto isn’t the most efficient offense. But the Wizards can make any NBA team look elite offensively. Still, the Raptors have added 29.5% of offensive rebounds and will get many second chances if nothing else.

On the other hand, the Raptors have been good at limiting fouls. They’re also holding teams to 27.2% of offensive rebounds, which is great, knowing the Wizards have added only 20.6% of offensive rebounds in this game.

That said, I’m on the Raptors. They’ll crush on the glass and likely get to the foul line more often. Toronto will make the effort plays to win and cover on the road.

Bet: Raptors -6.5 (-110)

New York Knicks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder will play the second game of a back-to-back tonight. At least the game is at home.

Oklahoma City is one of the best offenses in the NBA, scoring 119.6 points per 100 possessions. They’ve also been effective from the field, shooting near a 57% effective field goal percentage. The only thing the Thunder are poor at is adding offensive rebounds. They’re also great at getting to the foul line, but it’s more unlikely that they will reach their typical average, with the Knicks holding a free throw rate of 17.9 defensively.

Meanwhile, New York is dominant on the glass. The second chances should be there all night. The Knicks have added 32.5% of offensive rebounds, while the Thunder have given up a 31.8% effective field goal percentage.

Oklahoma City will get stops and force the Knicks into tough shots. However, the Knicks should have more shot attempts and will likely see the foul line more, with the Thunder allowing a free throw rate of 21.4.

As long as the Knicks protect that ball, which they have this season, I like New York to sneak by on the road after a day of rest. Give me the Knicks at +3.5.

Bet: Knicks +3.5 (-110)
