Top NBA Odds, Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (12/6)

We’ve finally got a huge slate in the NBA!

There were no games on Sunday and a couple of quarterfinal games on Monday and Tuesday in the In-Season NBA Tournament.

But now we’re back to regularly scheduled programming. At least for this one night.

Let’s enjoy it. Here are a couple of spots I like for tonight’s NBA slate.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Atlanta Hawks

The Brooklyn Nets have been underrated offensively this year. The Nets have scored 118.6 points per 100 possessions while shooting an effective field goal percentage of 55.8%. Brooklyn won’t see the foul line often. But the Nets are active on the offensive glass.

With the Hawks allowing 29.8% of offensive rebounds, the Nets should have success on the glass to earn second chances.

Atlanta has also allowed 118.3 points per 100 possessions and has given up a 57.5% effective field goal percentage. That rate is 28th in the NBA.

On the other hand, the Hawks are also one of the best offensive teams in the NBA. They’ve scored the third-best points per 100 possessions in the NBA with 120 points. The Hawks will do a great job at limiting turnovers and have earned a 23.3 free throw rate with 31.1% of offensive rebounds.

Brooklyn isn’t a bad defense. However, the Hawks continue to play in high-scoring games with their fantastic offense and subpar defense.

I’ll grab the Over 242.5 in this one.

Bet: Over 242.5 (-110)

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Houston Rockets

The Thunder and Rockets are two teams starting to rise in the NBA.

The Thunder have one of the best offenses in the NBA behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. He’s added nearly 30 points per game on almost 54% from the field.

As a team, the Thunder have scored 118.6 points per 100 possessions with an effective field goal percentage of nearly 57%. The Thunder are strong with the ball and typically get to the foul line at a very high rate.

That’ll continue against the Rockets. Houston fouls at one of the highest rates in the NBA. However, while the Thunder will get foul calls, they’ll still struggle to find open looks. Houston has held teams to a 51.3% effective field goal percentage, allowing only 26.6% of offensive rebounds.

Conversely, the Thunder are also a top-five defense in the NBA. They’ve held teams to 110.6 points per 100 possessions while allowing only a 51% effective field goal percentage.

Houston is weak on the offensive glass and doesn’t get to the foul line as often as the Thunder. The Rockets also shoot a 54.6% effective field goal percentage, which is about average.

The Thunder have the edge, but I’m even more confident in the Under 227.5.

Bet: Under 227.5 (-110)
