Top NBA Parlay Odds & Picks for Tuesday, April 12 (2022)

It’s the official beginning of the NBA playoffs as they feature the play-in games. There are genuine contenders in these games; a couple of teams struggled during the year due to essential players out with injuries or other reasons. Most of them are now playing at full strength, which could lead to a playoff run throughout the spring.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Brooklyn Nets (-8.5) O/U 228.5 (Tip 7 p.m. ET)

The Cavs ended the season on a down note as they lost seven of their last ten and 3-9 against the spread. Injuries have been a problem lately, and they still will not have their defensive leader Jarrett Allen, who’s missed the last month with a fractured finger. The good news is they’ll have Evan Mobley back in the lineup.

They will need Kevin Love to come up big like in his 32 point performance against the Bucks, including eight shots from three, because without Allen down in the paint to defend and grab rebounds, Cleveland will need to rely more on their outside shooting to win.

With Kyrie and KD as just the big two, they’re a better team. Both have been able to get in their grooves and be a one-two punch that has boosted the Nets heading into the postseason.

The cast of roll players like Bruce Brown, who scored 20 points in the season finale, and Andre Drummond, with his 10.2 rebounds per game, should feast without Allen in the lineup.

A Cavilers team that’s won games with their defense not having their best defensive player is the catalyst in this game. Brooklyn had an 11-point win last week against them, and a big win should happen again.

Leg 1: Nets -8.5 (-110)

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Brooklyn Nets Under 228.5

When you look at the trends going into this game, it screams, “Take the under!” The total went under in 23 of their 41 home games this season, and seven of eight home games went under when the total was set between 288 to 230.

Most of those games were without Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving in the lineup, but both played in the 118-107 win last week.

Cleveland does not have the offensive firepower to contend with the Nets, so this game could get out of hand early, and Brooklyn may choose to rest the stars.

Leg 2: Under 228.5

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves (-3) O/U 230.5 (Tip 9:30 p.m. ET)

The Clippers not having Kawahi Leonard for the entire season and Paul George for most of it significantly impacted their seeding in the playoffs. Players like Reggie Jackson and Marcus Morris filled the void and led this team throughout the season. Their resilience kept them in many games and won them some unexpected matchups. With Paul George back in this lineup and playing well, maybe we’ll see Playoff P.

The Timberwolves have been one of the most surprising stories of the year. Living in mediocrity for what felt like forever, it feels like they put an excellent nucleus together with Karl Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards, and D’Angelo Russell and finished with the best scoring offense in the league (115.9 PPG).

Towns isn’t in the MVP discussion, but he’s become a versatile player. He still dominates down low, but he’s now dangerous from three and the mid-range jumper. This creates all sorts of defensive mismatches that the Clippers will have trouble adjusting.

While the T-Wolves have a much better starting lineup and best player in this game, the Clippers have more depth. They’re one of the few teams whose second and third units don’t diminish their offensive capabilities. This game will be filled with offense.

Leg 3: Over 230.5 (-110)
