Top NBA Playoffs Odds & Picks: Tuesday (4/30)

Yesterday, the Lakers and Pelicans were sent home from the NBA Playoffs. Tonight, two more teams could end up joining them.

We’ve got a three-game NBA slate, with two potential elimination games. The New York Knicks can knock off the Philadelphia 76ers at home, while the Indiana Pacers have a high chance of eliminating the Milwaukee Bucks.

Below, we’ve added a couple of best bets for these two specific games!

Philadelphia 76ers @ New York Knicks

Although Jalen Brunson scored 47 points in New York’s Game 4 victory over Philadelphia, it was still the Knicks’ worst offensive performance overall.

The Knicks only scored 109 points per 100 possessions in that game, which was the lowest rate since April 2 in Miami. Yet, despite the below-average offense, the Knicks still found a way to win on the road, thanks to 35.7% of offensive rebounds and terrific defense on the other end.

The Knicks only allowed 101.1 points per 100 possessions and held the 76ers to a 40.9% effective field goal percentage. Those were also the lowest rates for the 76ers on offense in the playoffs.

The 76ers still found the foul line but only earned 25% of offensive rebounds.

New York has defeated the 76ers in many different ways. In some games, they’ve had top-notch scoring. In other games, it’s due to great offensive rebounding. On Sunday, it was a combination of terrific defense and timely rebounding.

I’ll back the Knicks at -4.5. They’ve been much more consistent, while the 76ers have to rely on Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey to score 75+ points together to win in a game.

Bet: Knicks -4.5 (-115)

Indiana Pacers @ Milwaukee Bucks

As of this morning, Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo are doubtful for tonight’s game. Therefore, the spread has already moved from -3.5 to -4.5 with the news.

Although the Bucks are home, Milwaukee is expected to struggle at home without their two best players. Without Lillard on Sunday, the Pacers put up their worst offensive performance in the playoffs, scoring 113 points per 100 possessions. Still, Milwaukee was weak on the offensive glass and didn’t get to the foul line at all.

On the other hand, the defense struggled just as badly as it has since Game 2. The Pacers notched 132.6 points per 100 possessions and shot a 65.5% effective field goal percentage with only 6.5% of turnovers. Indiana has turned the ball over no more than 8.2% over the three-game winning streak against the Bucks.

While the Bucks will have Bobby Portis back in the starting lineup, they realistically don’t have enough depth off the bench to force a Game 6.  Take the Pacers in Game 5. Milwaukee doesn’t have the offense to stick around.

Bet: Pacers -4.5 (-105)
