Milwaukee Bucks vs. Memphis Grizzlies
The Milwaukee Bucks and Memphis Grizzlies won their first preseason contest. The Bucks have listed Khris Middleton and Giannis Antetokounmpo as game-time decisions for their second game of the preseason,
Meanwhile, Marcus Smart has also been listed as a game-time decision for the Grizzlies.
The Bucks earned a 105-102 win over the Bulls in the first game. Middleton and Antetokounmpo didnât play in that game. The best contributor was MarJon Beauchamp, who added 18 points in 28 minutes while grabbing nine rebounds. The Bucks will need more depth off the bench. Beauchamp can deliver that beyond the preseason.
Bobby Portis and Brook Lopez only played 12 minutes in that game, allowing the younger guys to get more minutes. That will likely be the case throughout the preseason for Milwaukee.
On the other hand, the Grizzlies earned a 127-122 win over the Pacers in overtime in their first game. Memphisâ starters played a lot more. Ja Morant, Marcus Smart, and Brandon Clarke were all held out. However, Desmond Bane played 23 minutes, while Jaren Jackson added 25 minutes. Those two added 30 points combined in the win.
Memphis has a deeper bench, with players like Jake LaRavia and Kyle Lofton Jr. Theyâre extremely big at the forward position. With Lopez and Portis not playing much this preseason, Iâll ride with Memphis.
Bet: Grizzlies -1.5 (-110)
Utah Jazz vs. Los Angeles Clippers
Utah looked good in its first preseason game, with a 101-96 win over the Clippers.
The Jazz will take on the Clippers for the second straight time tonight.
Utah played with its entire rotation for that first game. The starting lineup was Colin Sextion, Talen Horton-Tucker, Lauri Markkanen, John Collins, and Walker Kessler. The Jazz also had Kelly Olynyk and Jordan Clarkson off the bench. Keyonte George and Ochai Agbaji also gave some big minutes.
On the other hand, the Clippers started Kawhi Leonard and Paul George together. Those two added 19 points combined while playing 15 minutes each. Most of the shots came from Bones Hyland and Xavier Moon. Los Angeles didnât play Russell Westbrook. Marcus Morris Sr. is currently injured with a strained left groin.
The Jazz turned the ball over eight more times but shot nearly 45% from the field. Utah had more success scoring off turnovers despite giving up 21 of their own.
If the Jazz can continue to limit points off turnovers and shoot at a higher percentage, Iâll rock with them.
Bet: Jazz +2.5 (-110)
