Top NFL Monday Night Football Picks & Predictions: Raiders vs. Lions (Week 8)
Week 8 comes to a conclusion with Monday Night Football as the Lions host the Raiders. Below, I will walk through my best bet to make for this matchup.

Week 8 Monday Night Football Best Bet: Raiders vs. Lions

Raiders (+7.5) vs. Lions | O/U 46.5
Going on the road against a very talented Lions team that is going to look to bounce back from last week’s 38-6 loss to the Ravens is going to be a very difficult task for the Raiders. Detroit didn’t have its best stuff in that game, but I think that was more of a proclamation of Baltimore’s abilities rather than an indictment on the Lions.
Entering Week 8, Detroit ranked in the top half of the league in expected points contributed by all defense. That should be problematic for an uninspiring Vegas offense that has scored an average of just 16 points per game this season, which is the third-worst mark in football.
The Raiders also rank 29th in yards per game.
Yeah, the Vegas defense is also poor, which is why we are catching this total in the mid-to-upper 40s. With that said, the offense has been so bad that there have still been fewer than 45 total points scored in each of the Raiders’ past five games.
So even if Detroit’s offense puts up a big game, the Under should still be live. With that said, there are a lot of question marks regarding the Lions’ offense on Monday.
Starting RG Halapoulivaati Vaitai is questionable with a back injury, star WR Amon-Ra St. Brown is questionable with an illness, starting C Frank Ragnow is doubtful with a toe injury and David Montgomery remains out with a rib injury. With the injuries piling up, it wouldn’t be surprising if Detroit’s offense struggles in back-to-back weeks.
There have now been fewer than 45 total points scored in each of the Lions’ past two games.
