Betting the GIFT (Goal In First Ten) is simple. Pick whether or not a game will have a goal scored in the first 10 minutes of play (00:00-09:59). It’s that easy and all you have to do is root for anyone to score and you win. It is one area of hockey betting that has a nearly league-wide positive success rate with 93.75% of the league currently cashing at 50% or better this season. I have been able to use this season’s GIFT numbers to pick winners with extreme accuracy.

Florida Panthers at Pittsburgh Penguins

Florida’s season GIFT rate of 53% (28-of-52) may be 23rd in the NHL, but that number jumps to 61% when they are away from Amerant Bank Arena. In fact, 16 (57%) of their 28 GIFTs have come on the road this season. The Panthers have cashed this prop four of their last six road games.

Pittsburgh has cashed GIFTs at a 61% (30-of-49) rate overall, good for 12th in the NHL. Their home GIFT strike rate is even better, sitting at a cool 70%, behind only Seattle’s 79% at Climate Pledge Arena. GIFTs at PPG Paints Arena account for 17 of their 30 GIFTs overall. The Pens have cashed in six of their last eight home games.
