New York Islanders (+145) vs. Edmonton Oilers (-175) | O/U 6 (-120/+100)

We got our first coaching change of the season with the Oilers letting go of Jay Woodcroft and bringing in former AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack head coach Kris Knoblauch. The offense is tops in expected goal percentage, but there's no player with a positive plus/minus, and Connor McDavid is struggling with no goals in eight straight games. The goaltending has been where they struggled mostly leading to them being 30th in goals against above expected.

The Islanders started the season at a solid 5-2-2, but they've hit a tough patch by going 0-3-1 in their last four. They usually have great defense and goaltending, but they allowed 17 goals in those games. The problem is they don't have the offensive support to come through in those types of contests. They are 30th in goals scored per game, with Noah Dobson leading the team in points, and it's never good when a defenseman is your points leader.

This plays out perfectly for Edmonton. It is a breath of fresh air with a new coach, and they get a team struggling on defense. There's still a great group of forwards throughout their lines, and a win at home could energize them for the rest of the season.

Pick: Oilers 60 Minute Moneyline (-115)

Colorado Avalanche (-155) vs. Seattle Kraken (+124) | O/U 6.5 (+100/-120)

The Avalanche have dropped three of their last four. Secondly, these losses were terrible, and they were outscored by 14 in those three games. You hope Alexander Georgiev can improve because he's allowed 16 goals in his last three outings and a .811 save percentage.

This is an excellent opportunity for Georgiev to rebound by going to Seattle, who's struggling on offense to start the season. They're 28th in goals scored per game and 26th in goals scored above expected. This isn't going to be a top offense even at their peak, but guys like Jared McCann, who led the team with 70 points last year, are struggling. However, they finally have a healthy Jaden Schwartz, who has eight goals to start the year.

You can’t ignore that Colorado has some of the best forwards, with Mikko Rantanen, who has 19 points,  Nathan MacKinnon, who has 15, and defenseman Cale Makar, who has 16.  This offense can push them to a win.

Pick: Avalanche 60 Minute Moneyline (+100)
