St. Louis Blues (+205) vs. Colorado Avalanche (-250) | O/U 6 (-120/+100)

The Colorado offense has been average to start the season, but it would be even worse if not for top lines. Mikko Rantanen and Nathan McKinnon have 18 and 14 points, respectively, then Cale Makar, one of the top offensive defensemen, with 15 points. The main reason for the inconsistency is their goaltending has struggled, allowing 3.83 goals per game and a .860 save percentage over their last six games.

The Blues have to rely solely on their defense because their offense has been abysmal all season. Their 2.33 goals scored per game is 30th, and they are 29th in expected goals per 60. Jordan Binnington is having a better 2023-24 than last year, and Joel Hofer is excelling as he finally gets playing time.

Despite the Avalanche’s recent struggles, they’re playing at home, where they’re 4-1-0. Take Colorado’s offense to come through, and while the goaltending has struggled, you can be confident in them going against this St. Louis offense.

Pick: Avalanche -1.5 (-105)

Vancouver Canucks (+114) vs. Toronto Maple Leafs (-135) | O/U 6.5 (-125/+105)

The Canucks keep pushing through, as they’ve won five straight games on the puckline. It isn’t difficult when you’re the only team in the top five in points scored and allowed.

The Maple Leafs have a great set of offensive talent and are thriving. William Nylander’s 21 points are fourth, and Auston Matthews leads the league with 13 goals, but the defense is terrible. It’s currently 29th in expected goals against and 28th in goals allowed per game.

An excellent defensive team hasn’t been able to contain this Vancouver, so don’t expect the Leafs to be competitive. Take the road dogs  that are a much better team head-to-head

Pick: Canucks Moneyline (+114)

Boston Bruins (-218) vs. Montreal Canadiens (+180) | O/U 6 (-120/+100)

The Bruins were the best regular-season team in league history, and they could even top that. They have 23 out of a possible 25 points, and while the offense is good, the goaltending is fantastic. They have the reigning Vezina Trophy Linus Ullmark, but he’s nowhere near their best netminder; that title belongs to Jeremy Swayman. He’s allowing 1.42 goals per game and a .952 save percentage, which are both leading the league.

The Canadiens started the season pretty well, going 5-2-1, but they’ve struggled recently going 1-3-1. The offense is still doing well, however. Cole Caufield has recorded at least a point in four of the last five, the same with Nick Suzuki, but the goaltending has struggled, allowing three or more goals in seven of the last eight.

Even without the hook, we can still be confident in the under as it is Swayman’s turn between the pipes.

Pick: Under 6 (+100)
