Saturday's NHL Best Bets

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Tampa Bay Lightning (-115) at Pittsburgh Penguins (-115) | O/U 6 (-118/-102)

The Lightning have picked a great time to play their best hockey, as they are 10-1-1 in their last 12. They have locked down a playoff spot and are holding the first Wild Card spot, but are just two points behind the Maple Leafs for third in the Atlantic. Andre Vasilevsiky struggled when he returned after back surgery, which cost him the start of his season, but he's been fantastic lately, going 8-1-1 with a .937 save percentage in his last ten.

The Penguins' season has been marked with inconsistent play, but right now, they want to play spoiler as they won three straight, including New Jersey and Washington, who are fighting for playoff spots.

It will be tough to catch the Bolts on a bad night, especially when the offense and defense have been firing on all cylinders.

Pick: Lightning Moneyline (-105)

Dallas Stars (-325) at Chicago Blackhawks (+260) | O/U 6 (-105/-115)

We knew the Blackhawks would be bad this season, and with the second-fewest points, they'll be in a great position to get the top pick. The first-overall pick they got last year (Connor Bedard) has looked great with 58 points (21G 37A) and, at -2500 odds, is a lock for the Calder Trophy. That's all the Blackhawks can be excited about for now.

The Stars could be a favorite going into the playoffs and are just three points behind the Rangers in the race for the Presidents' Trophy. They've surged up the Western Conference as they've won eight straight, with a couple of notable wins over the Kings, Oilers and Canucks. The defense has been carrying this team over their recent runs, especially the stellar goaltending. Dallas has a lot of talent on the top lines, but they've been only average, so you have to go down further and look at Jamie Benn and Wyatt Johnson, as they have 15 goals in their last ten.

This has the makings of a trap game, so we'll stay away from the picking winner, and instead, look for this to be a tough-fought game for Dallas and a low scoring contest.

Pick: Under 6 Total Goals (-115)

Vancouver Canucks (+100) at Los Angeles Kings (-120) | O/U 5.5 (-108/-112)

It's been a crazy season for the Kings. They were championship favorites early on, and now they'll likely have the final Wild Card spot. The offense has not been great all year; they look dominant at times, but with injuries and bad play, they lack the firepower. What's kept them in contention is their defense, from the blue line to the goaltending.

Injuries are the theme of the Canucks at the moment. No Thatcher Demko, who's been one of the best goalies ranking sixth in goals allowed (2.47) and fourth in save percentage (.917). They also still don't have Elias Lindholm, and while he hasn't been great since being traded to Vancouver, he's still a great center to have.

Casey DeSmith has struggled lately for Vancouver, losing three straight, including against LA. The Kings are playing better hockey at the moment, while the Canucks have struggled to win with these injuries.

Pick: Kings Moneyline (-120)
