Top NHL Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (11/14)

The NHL offers up a nine-game slate tonight, which gives us a ton of different betting options. Below, I've narrowed in on my top three bets on the ice for this Tuesday action in the NHL.

Let's dive into the picks and analysis!

Tuesday’s Best NHL Bets

(Odds courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook)

Pittsburgh Penguins (-190) @ Columbus Blue Jackets (+158) | O/U 6.5 (-120/+105)

The Penguins have bounced back after a slow start, rattling off four consecutive wins. They'll look to make it five straight tonight as they travel to Ohio to take on the Blue Jackets. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET from Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

While the Pens are riding high after notching four straight wins, the Jackets are trending in the opposite direction, losing their last five games. It only makes sense to fade Columbus here and lay the 1.5 goals with Pittsburgh.

The defense and goaltending have stepped up during the current streak for Pittsburgh, where they've allowed just five goals over the four-game sample (1.25 GAA). They'll have another favorable matchup in this spot, as Columbus is just 26th in the league in shooting percentage (8.99%) and 23rd in expected goals per 60 minutes (2.95). I think it's worth a flier with the plus-money payout to say the Pens win by multiple goals.

Bet: Pittsburgh Penguins -1.5 (+140)

Arizona Coyotes (+180) @ Dallas Stars (-220) | O/U 6.0 (-120/+100)

The Coyotes continue to trend upward as an organization, and they're looking to make some serious noise in the Central Division this season. They'll have a big task tonight against the first-place Stars, who are 10-3-1 out of the gate. This divisional clash is slated for 8:00 p.m. ET from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I am very interested in the over in this matchup that will likely pit Karel Vejmelka (2.96 GAA) against Jake Oettinger (2.19 GAA). Interestingly, the Yotes have been an "over team" this season, going 9-5 to the over. Arizona actually boasts the fifth-highest shooting percentage this season at 11.93%. Dallas ranks 10th, making 11.03% of their shots.

Ultimately, I think the Coyotes have enough talent with their top lines to notch at least a couple of goals. They've seen their power play come alive, where they're fifth overall in the league at 29.09%. Conversely, Dallas is scoring 3.4 goals per game this season. There's still a "big brother" vibe between these two teams. While that's not statistical data, the Stars should be good for at least 3-4 goals against a team they've trounced in recent history. I like the number at 6.0, so I'll lay the -120 juice with the over.

Bet: Over 6.0 (-120)

Tampa Bay Lightning (-130) @ St. Louis Blues (+110) | O/U 6.5 (-110/-110)

Finally, let's head out to Missouri, where the Lightning take on the Blues in a cross-conference showdown. This one is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET from the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Mo.

My initial lean was to back the Bolts, but considering they've lost five of their last seven games, I don't think I can justify laying the juice with them. Instead, I'll play the over at this lofty number of 6.5 goals. Many believed that Tampa Bay would play in higher-scoring games while Andrei Vasilevskiy was sidelined with an injury. That theory has been correct, considering Tampa is 10-5 to the over this season.

The big concern is whether the Blues can help contribute to the over. Well, they're coming off of an eight-goal performance against the Avalanche (8-2) in their most recent game. They've gone 4-1-0 in their last five games, averaging 4.4 goals per game. The bottom line is that Tampa has the offensive stars to match the red-hot Blues if they continue to light up the scoreboard. I think we're good for at least seven goals tonight in St. Louis.

Bet: Over 6.5 (-110)
