MLB Best Bets
San Diego Padres (+108) at Chicago Cubs (-126) | O/U 7.5 (-114/-106)
Not many people would have guessed the Cubs would be the team over .500 coming into this series. However, every part of their game is clicking - they're second in average, fourth in runs scored, and ninth in ERA. Justin Steele has been the star of this rotation, leading with three wins and a 1.44 ERA.
The expectations were high as the Padres spent more money to improve this team. They're playing better at the moment by winning four of their last five, but they are just at .500.
Aside from a recent shutout, the offense has improved and scored 19 runs in the series against Arizona.
The problem has been pitching, which includes Blake Snell. He's been better over his recent two starts but hasn't seen much run support.
The Padres have improved offensively, especially with the return of Fernando Tatis Jr., and with the Cubs overall, expect a lot of offense
Pick: Over 7.5 Runs (-114)

NBA Playoffs Best Bets
Atlanta Hawks (+625) vs. Boston Celtics (-900) | O/U 229.5 (-110/-110)
It's looking like we'll get a gentleman's sweep in this Eastern Conference series between the Hawks (1-3) and Celtics. This one's all but over when you factor in that Atlanta will be without Dejounte Murray (suspension). Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET from TD Garden in Boston, MA.
I'm not sure I can convince myself to lay 13 points with Celtics here, although if I was going to play a side, that's probably where I'd lean. Boston's margins of victory over the four games have been: 13, 13, -8, 8. So, without Murray, who is the Hawks' second-leading scorer with 25.3 points per game, I would say it makes sense to lay the points if you want to take a side.
With that being said, I'll go ahead and lock in the over tonight at the Garden. It's going to take a herculean effort from Trae Young to keep this game close, and everybody, including him, knows this. He's averaging 26.8 points per contest this series and I feel like we're in for a game where he drops 40+ in a losing effort.
On the flip side, look for the second-seeded Celtics to lean on what they do best - play offense. The C's finished the regular season ranked second overall in offensive efficiency, averaging 115.7 points per 100 possessions. I think we'll see a good old-fashioned barnburner in Boston where the over cashes for a third consecutive game.

NHL Playoffs Best Bets
New York Islanders (+135) vs. Carolina Hurricanes (-155) | O/U 5.5 (+135/-155)
After winning the first two games of the series and splitting the pair of road games, the Hurricanes return home where they'll attempt to close out their series with the Islanders tonight. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET from PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC.
The chips are stacked against the Isles in just about every way, so I'll fade them and say the Canes secure the series win tonight. Starting with the special teams, New York is currently dead last on the power play this postseason, going just 1-for-12 (8.33%) on their man-advantage opportunities.
The fact that they cannot score on the 5-v-4 has really been their downfall this season. Factor in that they're running into a red-hot Antti Raanta, and I just don't know where they're going to find offense from. Raanta finished the regular season at 11-0-1 at home with a 2.06 GAA and .916 SV%. Look for this versatile Carolina defense to put on another clinic and send New York packing.
Bet: Carolina Hurricanes Moneyline (-155)
