Here are today's best bets.

MLB Best Bets

Atlanta Braves (-270) at Detroit Tigers (+220) | O/U 8.5 (+100/-122)

The Braves took an unexpected loss last night after giving up three runs in the ninth and eventually dropped this game in extra innings. They have a great chance to regroup with Spencer Strider on the mound, even though he is coming off the worst start of his career, allowing eight earned runs against the Mets.

What made it even more unlikely was that Detroit had come into that game losing nine straight. The Tigers will respond with Reese Olson, who has pitched well in his first two appearances and allowed three earned in ten total innings.

I just don't think he'll be able to contain an Atlanta lineup that has been on an offensive tear as of late. Strider should have a bounce-back against one of the worse statistical offenses in the league.

Pick: Braves -1.5 (-152)

NHL Best Bets

Florida Panthers (+146) at Vegas Golden Knights (-176) | 5.5 (-124/+102)

I'm rolling with the Golden Knights to win Game 5 and hoist their first Stanley Cup in franchise history tonight. It comes with a pretty juicy price tag at -176, but I truly think it's the best betting option in terms of a side.

Sure, they were able to cover the puck line in both Games 1 (5-2) and 2 (7-2), but the Panthers adjusted and won Game 3 outright (3-2 OT) while only losing Game 4 by one goal (3-2). This Florida squad is not going down without a fight, we know that. They're 3-0 this postseason when facing elimination. However, I think this is where the magic runs out for the Panthers, albeit in a close contest.

Speaking of fights, they've tried all of the post-whistle shenanigans in the book and they haven't been able to get under the Golden Knights' skin. Bruce Cassidy instilled these disciplines into his team from Day 1 and the players are experienced enough not to fall for those tricks.

So, they're more disciplined, more skilled, bigger, and just as fast as the Panthers. Vegas has been able to control the center of the ice all series and divert incoming traffic to boards, making zone entries tough for Florida's offense. I expect that to continue and all things point to the Golden Knights getting it done at home tonight.

Best Side Bet: Vegas Golden Knights Moneyline (-176)

Best WNBA Bet

Washington Mystics at Indiana Fever

I will preface that Elena Delle Donne is questionable for tonight's game with neck tightness. The Washington forward has been their leading scorer, averaging 18.6 points per game, with seven boards and three assists.

Losing her scoring would be a blow to the Mystics. However, they showed their ability to step up without her last time out against Seattle, in part to  Natasha Cloud and Ariel Atkins' performances. Where Washington can shift their focus to their top-ranked defense, as they own a 90.3 defensive rating so far this year. Even if Delle Donne is out, the Fever sits at the bottom of the defensive rating list, so the Mystics should be able to figure out how to score.

Still, Indiana plays at the slowest pace in the WNBA. With Washington potentially missing their leading scorer - or having her banged up - going against a struggling offense that slows it down, the under is a clear play tonight.

Bet: Under 157 (-110)
