Here are today’s best bets.

MLB Best Bets

Oakland Athletics (+230) at San Francisco Giants (-275) | O/U 8.5 (-105/-115)

Alex Cobb has been an important piece in this Giants’ rotation as they compete for a division title. He resembles his days with Tampa Bay, having command of his pitches, and his 6.3 walk rate could be his best full-season finish since 2018. He’s been great over the last two months, with the team going 10-2 in his last 12 starts.

Ken Waldichuk’s first stint in the rotation did not go well, and he went 1-3 with a 6.85 ERA in nine starts. So far, the second time around hasn’t been better, with a 7.88 ERA in his last two starts. His slider and changeup are effective pitches, getting over a 30% whiff rate on each, but he leads with his fastball (53.7% of his pitches), and it tends to creep over the plate, and he’s allowed 11 home runs on that pitch.

We won’t be comparing this matchup to the 1989 World Series as the Giants cruise to a win.

Pick: Giants -1.5 (-115)

TBT Best Bets

Shell Shock vs. Gataverse

The Shell Shock will play its first-ever TBT game today. They’ve comprised of Maryland alumni, with notable players like Roddy Peters, Rob Carter, and Darryl Morsell. There’s talent on this roster. That talent will face off against Gataverse in the first round of the TBT. The Gataverse are Florida alumni. They’ve got players that won back-to-back national championships in 2010. But that might hurt them knowing they’re a bit older than many of the field. Let’s back Shell Shock. The Big Ten is always better than the SEC!

Pick: Shell Shock +1.5 (-110)

WNBA Best Bets

Las Vegas Aces at Chicago Sky

I hate to write this as a Chicago Sky fan myself, but the Aces are a mean green fighting machine. After winning five straight games by 15-plus points, there is no reason not to bet on this team.

The Aces are near-perfect, pacing the league in both offensive and defensive efficiency. Their offensive rebounding isn’t great, but it doesn’t matter because of how legitimate their offense is, and their defensive rebounds are third in the league.

Chicago has been on a long and slow downslope recently with a four-game losing streak. They are 5-5-1 ATS at home, and Las Vegas has absolutely no flaws right now. This is an easy decision to make.

Bet: Aces -14.0 (-110)
