Philadelphia 76ers @ Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics are going for their ninth consecutive win of the season. They'll take on a Philadelphia 76ers team that has been in shambles once Joel Embiid could no longer play. The 76ers have lost three of their last four games despite all four of those games being at home. They'll be on the road against the Eastern Conference's best team.
The Celtics are one of the best defenses in the NBA, holding teams to 112 points per 100 possessions. Opponents are not getting to the line against the Celtics and are shooting a 52.5% effective field goal percentage against Boston. It's hard to win games doing that.
Although the 76ers will cut out turnovers in this game, but so will the Celtics on their offensive end. Boston has also scored a league-best 122.3 points per 100 possessions with a 57.9% effective field goal percentage. The Celtics will also earn more offensive rebounds and get to the foul line at a higher rate, with Philadelphia allowing a 22.1 free throw rate and 28% of offensive rebounds.
I'm calling a blowout here. Grab the Celtics at -12.5.
Bet: Celtics -12.5 (-105)

Philadelphia Phillies To Win the 2024 World Series Odds (+1500)
The Philadelphia Phillies do not have the easiest path to an NL East title, playing in the same division as one of two teams in MLB projected to win 100-plus games, the Atlanta Braves. However, despite the Phillies finishing the regular season 14 games behind the 104-win Braves, it was Philadelphia that ousted Atlanta from the playoffs after winning the NLDS in four games. Even the No. 1 seed in the American League, the Baltimore Orioles, could not get past the Division Series, as last year proved regular season success does not automatically equate to postseason victories.
Philadelphia was one home win away from a World Series appearance last season, losing Games 6 and 7 at Citizens Bank Park after taking a 3-2 lead in the NLCS over the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Phillies could have gone a number of different directions in the offseason after such a disappointing finish. Still, one of their stars voiced his happiness with the team deciding to go for it again and remain mostly intact.
Philadelphia's re-signing of Aaron Nola was essential to bolster its pitching staff and keep him away from the division rival Braves, who were one of Nola's primary suitors. Nola is an innings eater, throwing the second-most innings of any pitcher in baseball since 2018, and he is just one season removed from a top-four Cy Young finish. He and Zack Wheeler give the Phillies one of the most formidable one-two punches at the top of any prospective playoff team's rotation.
The Phillies lineup was already one of the deepest in baseball, and it improved even more this offseason with the acquisition of Whit Merrifield. With the Royals, Merrifield led the AL twice in hits, and he is coming off his third All-Star appearance in a year where he slashed .272/.318/.382.
Yes, the Braves had a more impactful offseason trading for Jarred Kelenic and Chris Sale. However, the Phillies have made an NLCS and a World Series in back-to-back years, and we would put their roster against anyone's in a postseason series.

2024 Cognizant Classic
Are you looking for the next great story to develop? Look no further than Daniel Berger. Before this season, the 30-year-old hadn't teed it up in competition since the 2022 U.S. Open. Berger has three starts this year, and while he hasn't finished better than T-28 at the WM Phoenix Open, he's beginning to regain the form that made him a four-time tour winner.
Returning to the winner's circle in his home state just a few hours down the road from where he played college golf for Florida State might not top Knapp's story, but it certainly would be newsworthy. Berger has three top-five finishes here, so he's comfortable at PGA National and is a great sleeper pick to be atop the leaderboard Thursday evening.
Bet: Daniel Berger (55-1) First-Round Leader
