Indiana Pacers @ Dallas Mavericks

The Mavericks have listed Luka Doncic as questionable for this matchup against the Pacers, but I’d be surprised if he was actually ruled out.

Dallas has lost four of its last five games, including a 22-point loss to the Pacers on the road in late February. The Mavericks kept the game tight against Indiana until the fourth quarter. That’s when things went off the rails.

However, the Mavericks were on a long road trip for most of the losing streak and ultimately looked defeated in their last game against the 76ers, losing 120-116. It was Dallas’ first home game since Feb. 22, and I think the Mavericks will regroup against the Pacers tonight.

Dallas doesn’t play the best defense but should at least keep the Pacers from getting many foul-shot attempts. On the other hand, I’m expecting the Mavericks to out-shoot an excellent Pacers offense. Dallas has scored 119.2 points per 100 possessions and will face a Pacers squad that has allowed 120.3 points per 100 possessions with a 56.9% effective field goal percentage.

The Mavericks should have more success than usual on the offensive glass and will likely see the foul line more consistently. That’s enough for me to take the Mavericks at -4.5 on their home floor.

Bet: Mavericks -4.5 (-110)

Florida Panthers @ New Jersey Devils

The Panthers are playing excellent puck recently, as they’ve moved into the frontrunner position for the President’s Trophy (88 points). They’ll wrap up a three-game road trip tonight in New Jersey, where they square off against the Devils (64 points). Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET from the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

I’ll ride the hot hand in this spot; give me the Cats on the moneyline. Florida has been on an insane heater since late January, going 15-2-0 over their last 17 games. Even the two losses were by just one goal each. The Panthers bring in the best goal differential in the league (+58), and they’re seventh in scoring (3.3 GPG) and first defensively (2.21 GAA).

Speaking of defense, that’s what I believe will ultimately give the Panthers the edge tonight. However, it’s New Jersey’s defense that’s the issue. They still haven’t really found a true answer in-net. They just wrapped up the “California road trip,” going 1-2-0, conceding 3.7 goals per game. The Devils are 26th in the league defensively, surrendering 3.21 goals per contest. Florida should expose this lousy New Jersey defense tonight. Let’s lock in the Cats.

Bet: Florida Panthers Moneyline (-120)

#16 Alabama @ Florida

With both teams coming off losses, this feels like a must-win for both squads. While I was hesitant to trust home court the game before, I’m all-in on that angle here. Alabama ranks 352nd in the nation in the away-from-home metric, and Florida sits at 44th. The Gators truly step up their game at home and are a more consistent team that is playing with a lot more momentum.

Alabama will run and gun, but Florida can keep up with its 45th-ranked pace of play. I expect Florida to dominate on the offensive glass and limit the number of threes the Crimson Tide attempt, let alone make.

In their first matchup a few months ago, Florida pushed the game to overtime in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Now, I think they simply have the upper hand. Alabama’s transition defense is below average, and I trust Florida to capitalize on their near-proximity looks, as Nate Oats’ squad ranks outside the top 100 in defending that look.

Bet: Florida -1.5 (-110)
