U.S. Open 2022: Collin Morikawa Betting Odds, Preview, & Prediction
All eyes turn to the golf world this weekend as players and fans gear up for the 122nd edition of the U.S. Open Championship. The four-day tournament makes its return to The Country Club in Brookline, Mass., for the first time since 1988 and this will be the fourth time that they've hosted (1913, 1963).
Many players hope to find themselves in the hunt for the Major championship on Sunday, or at least in the running to cash in on the $12.5 million purse. The winner will walk away with a $2.25 million check. Will Collin Morikawa make a run at one of the most prestigious titles in golf?

Collin Morikawa Course History
There has not been a professional event held at The Country Club since the Ryder Cup in 1999, so Collin Morikawa has never played in any professional capacity.
As for his recent history in the U.S. Open, the 25-year-old will be competing in the tournament for the fourth time. His best finish was in 2021, when he tied for fourth place at Torrey Pines with a score of -2. Morikawa missed the cut in 2020 and tied for 35th at Pebble Beach the year prior.
Collin Morikawa Recent Form
The California native started the 2021-2022 campaign red hot, collecting four top-five finishes in his first five events. He finished tied for seventh in the fifth tournament of that stretch. Since then, Morikawa has competed in eight events and only finished within the top 20 once. In his defense, it was a fifth-place finish at the Masters back in April. Aside from the outing at Augusta, Morikawa has missed two cuts and finished outside of the top 25 in every other event.
Morikawa's best finishes were sole possession of second at The CJ Cup Summit in October and he tied for second at The Genesis Invitational in February. Regardless of the up-and-down year, Morikawa still ranks seventh in the world entering this weekend's Major championship tournament.
Collin Morikawa U.S. Open Predictions
The Pick: +130 to Finish Inside the Top 20
Morikawa is not in great form right now and I'm sure he'd be the first one to tell you that. He played at the Memorial Tournament during the first weekend of June and shot a +4 over the first two rounds and missed the cut. Previously, Morikawa finished T40 at the Charles Schwab Challenge and T55 at the PGA Championship.
Despite his inconsistent form over the '21-22 season, Morikawa has flashed signs of greatness and proven he's a top player in the world. He's been known to make runs at Major championships, winning both The Open Championship in 2021 and the PGA Championship in 2020, and collecting top-10 finishes in three other Major events in his career. I don't think Morikawa finds himself in contention to win the tournament on Sunday, but I'm confident saying he'll finish inside the top 20. While +130 isn't a 30-1 payout for him winning outright, it's a realistic wager and still has a plus-money payout.
