UC Santa Barbara vs. Baylor
All Odds via FanDuel
Leg 1: UC Santa Barbara +10.5 (-110)
Santa Barbra is the hotter team of the two coming into this game. They've won seven straight, three of which were in the win-or-go-home Big West tournament. That resilience will do well, especially in this type of atmosphere.
The Gauchos wonât be the team that passes it around to an open perimeter shooter, they will drive to the basket for the close-range shot and try to draw the foul. Baylor is good at not sending opponents to the stripe, but theyâre 233rd in Opponent Effective Field Goal Percentage and Opponent Two Point Field Percentage.
UCSB is 4-0-1 on neutral courts, and grabbing a Baylor team hasn't played well recently, so this could be a bracket-buster game.
Leg 2: Game Total Over 141.5 (-110)
The Bears' offense is one of the best in the country and ranked second in offensive efficiency, so for the Gauchos to keep this game close, they will have to attack. Baylorâs significant advantage is that they'll shoot from behind the arc, while Santa Barbara will attack the lane and draw the foul. Both teams go to the stripe at a high rate and are efficient from the line. All of that is going to push this game to the over.
Leg 3: LJ Cryer Over 14.5 Points (-130)
As mentioned, Baylor like to shoot the three, and they're top 25 in three-pointers attempted, so it will be the key for them to move on to the second round. UCSB has been a poor perimeter defending team and is 219th in the opponent's three-point shooting percentage. This is a prime matchup for Cryer, who is shooting 42.6% from three this season and 50.9% over his last eight games and hit over 14 in five.
