UFC 313: Amanda Lemos vs. Iasmin Lucindo
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Amanda Lemos (+120)
Amanda Lemos is 14-4-1 professionally but has had an up-and-down road lately. She has lost two of her last three fights and three of her last six. Her most recent fight was a submission loss to Virna Janiroba in July 2024, but she beat Mackenzie Dern via unanimous decision in February 2024.
Lemos lands 3.16 significant strikes and absorbs 3.87 significant strikes per minute. She lands with 54% accuracy and defends 44% of strikes. She lands 0.90 takedowns per 15 minutes with 63% accuracy and defends 61% of takedowns.
Iasmin Lucinco (–142)
Iasmin Lucindo is 4-1 in the UFC and 17-5 as a professional. She is on a four-fight winning streak, with her latest win against Marina Rodriguez in October. Lucindo also beat Karolina Kowalkiewicz, Polyana Viana, and Brogan Walker on her win streak.
She lands 3.52 significant strikes and absorbs 2.91 significant strikes per minute. Lucindo lands with 45% accuracy but defends 66% of strikes from opponents. She lands 2.40 takedowns per 15 minutes with 57% accuracy and defends 66% of takedowns.
Prediction
Lucindo will face a southpaw for the first time in the UFC and a slight step up in competition from Marina Rodriguez. Lemos is an elite striker and has power in the strawweight division. Lemos has an experience advantage with 12 fights in the UFC, while Lucindo only has five fights in the promotion. Lucindo will have an advantage, being 14 years younger than the 37-year-old Lemos. The younger fighter wins 73% of fights when there is that much of an age difference. It is an interesting matchup.
Lucindo likely has the grappling advantage and the wrestling edge. Lemos is a solid grappler with decent jiu-jitsu but can be submitted. Lucindo's training partner, Jandiroba, submitted her in Lemos' last fight, so there is familiarity for Lucindo's camp. Lemos' best submission is the guillotine, so Lucindo needs to keep her neck safe when shooting takedowns. Lucindo's youth should help her stay consistent when shooting takedowns, and will be fresher in the third round but may have trouble early.
Striking will be key for Lemos early in this fight. She needs to bank the first round and find her striking range quickly, which she usually does. Lucindo could have trouble against the southpaw, but her wrestling should pay dividends later in the fight. I expect this fight to be close, with Lucindo getting the nod from the judges. She has the momentum and youthful advantage to win the later stages of this fight.
