UFC Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS) Odds, Picks & Predictions: Season 6, Week 5 (2022)

Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS) is back for week five following weeks of terrific action. After a slow start to season six, 14 contracts have now been handed out as we reach the halfway point Tuesday, as head honcho Dana White has made it clear what type of performances will earn these guys (and girls) full-time UFC contracts.

Let’s take a closer look at a couple of fights I’m keyed in on tonight.

Amir Gogoladze vs. Darius Flowers

Entering this fight with a professional record of 14-2, Amir Gogoladze has won nine of his last 10 fights, with seven of those results coming inside of the distance. Currently, on a three-fight win streak, all three wins have come via TKO and all in the very first round.

An elite striker nicknamed “The Sniper,” Gogladze has shown his one-punch power time after time but draws a well-rounded opponent in this one as Darrius Flowers comes in on a three-fight win streak of his own.

In his last two fights, both under the respected promotion LFA’s banner, Flowers has won via KO/TKO inside of 46 seconds. At 27 years of age, Flowers holds a three-year advantage in terms of experience, but he does lose the size battle in this one standing 4″ shorter than Gogoladze.

While I think we see the experienced Flowers push this one late, Gogladze’s power should be a real problem for him, and I like for the favorite to get there.

Pick: Amir Gogoladze (-290 via DraftKings)

Michael Parkin vs. Eduardo Neves

It will be a pair of heavyweights squaring off in the main event, as Mick Parkin puts his 5-0 record on the line against (the also 5-0) Eduardo Neves. For the 26-year-old Parkin, all five wins have come inside of two rounds, all via KO/TKO, as the 6’4″ Englishman has shown immense power through his first five fights.

For Neves, a monster in his own right at 6’2″ and 265 pounds, all five of his fights have also come via KO/TKO, the two most recent under the LFA banner. A closer look shows that in his past three fights, all have ended within the first 64 seconds of the opening bell.

In these two fighters’ last six combined fights, they’ve yet to fight anyone with a professional win, and I think this fight is much closer to even than the odds suggest.

Pick: Mick Parkin (+210 via DraftKings)
