UFC Fight Night Sandhagen vs. Font: Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions

The show must go on without Umar Nurmagomedov. He had to withdraw from his fight with Cory Sandhagen and will remain as the eleventh-ranked bantamweight. Rob Font stepped into the main event slot for a shot to get into the top five. Tatiana Suarez will also make her case for a title shot against UFC veteran Jessica Andrade. The prelims start at 6 p.m. EDT, and the main card begins at 9 p.m. on ESPN from Nashville, Tennessee.

UFC Nashville Sandhagen vs. Font: Parlay Picks

2023 total: Down 11.74 units | Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook

Leg 1: Cody Durden Money Line (+160)

Cody Durden has a tricky matchup against Jake Hadley. Hadley is a well-rounded fighter with solid submission skills. Durden must be weary of the submission when he takes Hadley to the mat. Durden averages 5.73 takedowns landed per 15 minutes, and Hadley defends 37 percent of takedowns. He usually controls his opponent on the ground when he has the wrestling advantage. He secured 11 takedowns and had nine and a half minutes of control time in his victory over Charles Johnson in April.

Durden is skilled enough to compete when the fight is standing. His striking will open up after securing a takedown and keep Hadley thinking about wrestling. The odds for this fight should be closer to even, given Durden’s wrestling. He is worth a risk at this price and should be able to wrestle his way to victory.

Leg 2: Diego Lopes Money Line (-170)

Diego Lopes got a short-notice fight against Movsar Evloev and gave him a run for his money. Lopes earned at least one round on two of the judges’ scorecards, which is impressive given the circumstances and opponent. He is facing 37-year-old Gavin Tucker, who has not fought since 2021. He got knocked out by Dan Ige in the first round. Tucker will be facing another uphill battle against Lopes. Lopes is five inches taller, nine years younger, and holds a six-inch reach advantage over Tucker.

Overcoming a two-year layoff may be hard for Gavin Tucker, especially considering his age. He will start slowing down sooner than later, which is a dangerous game to play in the UFC. Lopes will start fast, and Tucker will have to shake the ring rust off quickly. Lopes’ stats are skewed based on the short-notice fight he took, but Tucker’s are worth noting. Tucker lands an average of 2.98 takedowns per 15 minutes but only defends 53 percent of takedowns. Lopes has the grappling advantage and could find a submission early.

Leg 3: Tatiana Suarez Money Line (-375)

The strawweight division is taking notice of this fight. Tatiana Suarez has returned from layoff and looked as dominant as ever. She submitted Montana De La Rosa in the second round returning from a nearly four-year layoff. Suarez will fight Jessica Andrade, who has already fought three times this year. She beat Lauren Murphy and lost to Erin Blanchfield and Xiaonan Yan. Suarez is similar to Blanchfield’s style and could be a quick night for her. She lands 6.12 takedowns per 15 minutes and has a striking ratio of 4.35 to 1.34 significant strikes landed and absorbed per minute. Andrade had trouble defending the takedown against Blanchfield and should have difficulty with Suarez, too. Suarez has the advantage over the veteran and should find a submission before the final bell.
