UFL Week 6 Odds & Picks: Saturday (2024)

Welcome to another round of UFL picks! Week 5 of the UFL season is in the books. While most of the games this season have been competitive, last week's matchups were all double-digit blowouts, including three by at least 17 points. Hopefully, the games this week will be more competitive.

The first game in Week 5 was between the San Antonio Brahmas and Arlington Renegades. Unfortunately, it was the only matchup not to end in a three-possession blowout, as the Brahmas got the 25-15 victory. San Antonio has won two games in a row by 10 points. Meanwhile, Arlington is the only winless team in the UFL halfway through the season.

The second matchup on Saturday was a projected blowout, and the game was over by halftime. The Birmingham Stallions got the 32-9 victory over the Houston Roughnecks thanks to a 26-9 first-half lead. Adrian Martinez had only 155 passing yards on 20 attempts but added 138 yards on the ground on nine rushing attempts in the blowout win.

Now, it's time to move on to Week 6. Let's look at my favorite bet from both UFL matchups on Saturday.

UFL Week 6 Picks

Let’s dive into our top UFL Week 6 Picks for this weekend’s games.

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Birmingham Stallions @ Memphis Showboats

Birmingham is the clear-cut top team in the UFL. That is scary, considering the team hasn't had consistent quarterback play every week. Yet, the Stallions are the only undefeated team in the league, posting a 5-0 record. They are averaging 26.4 points per game, the second-most in the UFL behind the St. Louis Battlehawks. However, Birmingham has surrendered only 13.6 points per game on defense, 3.6 fewer than any other team this year.

Meanwhile, the Showboats got off to a strong start, winning by six over the Houston Roughnecks in Week 1. Unfortunately, it's been all downhill since opening weekend. They blew a 16-0 lead to the San Antonio Brahmas in Week 2, losing 20-19. Memphis has lost four consecutive games, including three straight by 15 or more points. One of those three double-digit defeats came in Week 3 against the Stallions in Birmingham, Ala.

These two teams are facing off for the second time in four weeks. While the first matchup was in Birmingham, Saturday's contest is in Memphis, Tenn. However, don't expect that to matter to the Stallions. This season, they have a 12.8 average margin of victory, the largest in the UFL. Meanwhile, the Showboats have a 13-point average margin of loss since Week 1. Birmingham could come away with its second consecutive 20-plus point blowout on Saturday.

Bet: Stallions -11.5 (-110)

Houston Roughnecks@ St. Louis Battlehawks

The Roughnecks have the second-worst record in the UFL this season at 1-4. They are averaging only 15.2 points per game, the fewest in the league. Meanwhile, their defense hasn't been much better, surrendering the fourth-most points per game (23.2). Unfortunately, Houston's only victory this year came two weeks ago against the winless Arlington Renegades, 17-9. Yet, the Roughnecks' strength of schedule (.440) ranks in the bottom half of the UFL.

St. Louis is a 64-yard field goal by Jake Bates in Week 1 away from having a 5-0 record alongside the Birmingham Stallions. They have won four in a row, with each victory becoming more definitive each week. Last week, the Battlehawks earned a 45-12 victory over the Defenders in Washington. AJ McCarron has been on fire the past two weeks, completing 71% of his pass attempts for 435 yards, five touchdowns and only one interception in two blowout victories for St. Louis.

This matchup screams David vs. Goliath. However, the Roughnecks won't be victorious like David. Houston has a 12-point average margin of loss this season, including back-to-back defeats by 14 or more points. Meanwhile, St. Louis has an 11.2 average margin of victory this season, including 14.5 since Week 1. The Battlehawks have been the hottest team in the UFL over the past few weeks and show no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Pick: Battlehawks -12.5 (-110)
