Updated NFL MVP Odds: Brock Purdy, Lamar Jackson, Dak Prescott, Jalen Hurts (2023)

NFL futures bets can take months to pay out, but they can be profitable thanks to favorable odds in exchange for the long play. Throughout this NFL Futures Odds series, we’ll look at the best odds across every major sportsbook and compare them to our 2023 NFL season projections and notes and analysis from our experts. Below are the current NFL MVP odds, including what the line opened at and which sportsbook currently has the best odds.

As we approach the end of the NFL regular season, 49ers QB Brock Purdy has begun to separate himself from the pack. Heading into Week 16, he is the clear favorite and is currently the only candidate with negative odds at most major sportsbooks. He does have a head-to-head matchup with the current runner-up, Lamar Jackson on tap, however, and a win for Jackson and the Ravens could potentially flip those odds. So, now might be the time to pace your wagers on Jackson for +500.

What is a futures bet?

The vast majority of sports betting is done on single games occurring in the near future. Futures bets are wagers on future events and are decided by a large number of games rather than just one. Futures bets are usually on end-of-season results, such as a team winning a championship or a player winning an award. It is difficult to win, so odds are low, and futures bets generally have large payouts.
