USC Trojans vs. Colorado Buffaloes Odds & Game Pick (2021)

It's safe to say that both of these teams have been disappointing. That especially holds true for USC, which had lofty expectations heading into this season. However, the Trojans are currently 2-2, which includes a pair of embarrassing home losses to Stanford (42-28) and Oregon State (45-27). They dumped Clay Helton after the Stanford loss, but things haven't exactly turned around from there. USC will look for any momentum they can get while taking on Colorado.

Colorado has their own struggles at the moment, as they have dropped three straight games. The Buffaloes hung around with a Top-15 Texas A&M team, ultimately losing 10-7 at home. However, things got out of control from that point. Colorado then lost 30-0 vs. Minnesota, and they were routed 35-13 at Arizona State last week. Yes, USC has had its struggles, but it's safe to say that Colorado is in a darker place at the moment.

Let's cover all the betting angles of this Saturday afternoon showdown.

Overview

So what gives between two Pac-12 teams going through an identity crisis? Surely USC has the talent advantage, but that didn't matter when they were considerable favorites against Stanford and Oregon State earlier this year. On the other hand, it's hard to believe that Colorado can put together enough offense to keep pace with the Trojans on Saturday.

Even in their best game of the season (vs. Texas A&M), the Buffaloes couldn't muster much of anything offensively. It's hard to imagine they'll flip the switch against an angry USC team looking for redemption. Colorado is averaging just 6.7 points per game against three FBS opponents. That includes only 191 yards per contest in those matchups. The ranks in the bottom ten of the entire college football landscape.

Trends

  • The total has gone UNDER in 7 of USC's last 10 games.
  • Colorado is 1-5 ATS in their last six games.
  • The UNDER is 4-2 in Colorado's last six home games.

Bottom Line

Yes, USC's defense has been shockingly bad in recent weeks, but a matchup against Colorado's anemic offense makes for the perfect bounce-back spot. On offense, the Trojans are still loaded with enough talent to put up points.

USC should (emphasize that word) win by at least 10-14 points in this one.

Pick: USC -7.5
