MLB Best Bets

Chicago White Sox (+144vs. Toronto Blue Jays (-172| O/U 9.5 (-118/-104)

Only seven current Blue Jays have ever faced White Sox starter Michael Kopech, but despite six of those seven having three or fewer at-bats, six have also recorded at least one hit against him. Kopech has struggled with a 6.97 ERA this year and an even worse 9.83 xERA. His woes are directly tied to hard-hit balls, as he ranks in the bottom second percentile or worse in hard-hit percentage, barrels, and xSLG.

Toronto's lineup is relentless, starting with a top-of-the-lineup with three players (Bo Bichette, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., and Matt Chapman) with OPSs of .865 or higher entering Tuesday. Meanwhile, Blue Jays starter Yusei Kikuchi has allowed just two earned runs in his last 12 innings, with a 12:3 K:BB ratio despite facing the high-powered Rays at home and the Yankees in the Bronx in that span.

Toronto has won all four of Kikuchi's starts (three of them by at least three runs), so we are comfortable laying the -1.5 runs against a White Sox team that has lost seven straight road games and each of their last five in Toronto.

Pick: Blue Jays -1.5 (+105)

NBA Playoffs Best Bets

Los Angeles Lakers (+4.0) vs. Memphis Grizzlies | O/U 222.0 (-110/-110)

The Grizzlies dropped both road games in Los Angeles and now find themselves facing elimination as they return home for game five. They'll host the Lakers tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET from the FedExForum in Memphis, TN.

I'm laying the 4.0 points with the Grizzlies in this spot as I expect them to extend this series to a sixth game. They've had some issues scoring against a respectable Los Angeles defense, but I think the energy boost that comes with playing at home will be enough to help get them over the hump.

Furthermore, I simply think Memphis has more depth than Los Angeles, at least in terms of starters that can score. Aside from LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Lakers don't offer much to write home about in terms of scoring production. We know the stars will all get their points, but I like for Memphis' role players to step up at home and help push this series to a sixth game.

Bet: Memphis Grizzlies -4.0 (-110)

NHL Playoffs Best Bets

Florida Panthers (+205) at Boston Bruins (-245) | O/U 6.5 (+100/-120)

Boston returns home where they'll attempt to close out their series with the Panthers and advance to the second round. These Eastern Conference foes get going tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET from TD Garden in Boston, MA.

I'm going to lay the 1.5 goals in this game and take the Bruins to cover the puck line. All three of their wins thus far have been by at least two goals, including a four-goal slaughter in Sunrise on Sunday (6-2). The power play has been clicking as of late as Boston went 2-4 in the most recent game and currently sits at 4-for-14 (28.6%) in the playoffs.

Ultimately, it comes down to the netminding and lack of defensive structure for the Panthers. Specifically, now that it seems to be full steam ahead with Sergei Bobrovsky, it opens up a chance for the B's to really do some damage. The 34-year-old goaltender has never been a reliable option in the playoffs considering he has a 3.18 GAA and .900 SV over 53 career playoff games. All things considered, I'm expecting a crisp, clean effort from Boston tonight as they make their way to the second round.

Bet: Boston Bruins -1.5 (+110)
