MLB Best Bets
Kansas City Royals (+210) vs. Minnesota Twins (-255)| O/U 8.5 (-105/-115)
Minnesota Twins righty Pablo Lopez's 29.8% strikeout rate is on pace to be by far the best of his career and has him ranked in the 85th percentile of all qualified pitchers. About the only thing Lopez has done well of late is strike batters out, as he has struck out at least eight batters in six of his previous 11 starts despite pitching to a 4.71 ERA over his last seven. In two starts against the Kansas City Royals this season, he has struck out 15 batters in 11 1/3 innings but also pitched to a 4.86 ERA in that span. Kansas City's familiarity with him can only favor its hitters, and the Royals ranked a respectable middle-of-the-pack (16th) in strikeout rate in June.
Opposing Lopez is Royals rookie Alec Marsh, who was tagged for five earned runs in four innings in his MLB debut against the Los Angeles Dodgers last Friday. Marsh allowed a .605 xSLG in that game and generated whiffs on just 5.6% of his fastballs, which he threw 41.1% of the time.
The Over is 5-1-1 in the last seven meetings between these teams, has cashed in each of Kansas City's last five games, and is 4-0 in Minnesota's previous four against teams with a winning percentage below .400. Bank on another high-scoring affair today.
Pick: Over 8.5 (-105)

WNBA Best Bets
Dallas Wings at Las Vegas Aces
After shaking things up a bit, the Wings have won each of their last two games and three out of their last five, with one loss coming on the road by a possession to the Sparks.
The Aces should be at the top of everyone's power rankings, but they aren't unstoppable. They are still 9-7 ATS, and the recent play of Dallas gives me confidence in the Wings' ability to keep up.
The spread of 15 points is a lot, and the market is inflated towards Vegas, especially considering Dallas' ability to keep up with the pace of play and their all-around offense and defense. This should be a high-scoring affair, but the total of 175.5 is too rich for my blood, so I will be laying the points instead with Dallas.
Play: Wings +15
NBA Summer League Best Bets
Warriors vs. Hornets
The Golden State Warriors began their Summer League with a 100-94 loss to the Sacramento Kings. The Warriors were led by Lester Quinones, Brandin Podziemski and Gui Santos. However, the defense couldn't get stops. Despite allowing only 11 assists, the Kings still scored 100 points. Meanwhile, the Hornets had a laughable effort against the Spurs in their first game. The Hornets scored only 77 points, with no player earning 20 or more. Brandon Miller had 18 points, five rebounds, and three assists. But he also had many turnovers and seven personal fouls. The Hornets have an exciting amount of talent on the roster. But they couldn't figure it out against the Spurs. They likely won't figure it out against the Warriors, either.
Pick: Warriors +4.5 (-110)
