Houston Texans To Win the AFC South (+400)
âMonday Night Footballâ could not have been worse for the Jaguars. They entered the game with a chance to take hold of the top spot in the AFC. Instead, they lost to a Bengals team with their second-string QB and saw both Trevor Lawrence and Christian Kirk exit the game prematurely due to injury. They now hold the fourth seed in the conference and are just one game clear of both the Colts and Texans, who are tied at 7-5.
The Texans are a slightly better angle for this future since they split their season series against the Jaguars, while the Colts lost both matchups. The Texans also have a far easier remaining strength of schedule than the Colts, having just two games left against teams at or above 0.500 compared to four such games for Indianapolis.
Jacksonville has no walk in the park either, with back-to-back upcoming games against two of the best defenses in the NFL, Cleveland and Baltimore. The Jags could easily drop both of those games, even if Lawrence suits up. If Lawrence does miss extended time, though, they would also be susceptible to losing to teams like Tampa Bay and Tennessee in the following weeks.
With the uncertainty surrounding Lawrence and the Jaguars after Mondayâs loss, I think this is a fantastic price to jump on the Texans to steal the division. If you favor the Colts over the Texans, the same logic applies and you can find their odds at a slightly juicier number.

NBA Best Bets
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Brooklyn Nets @ Atlanta Hawks
The Brooklyn Nets have been underrated offensively this year. The Nets have scored 118.6 points per 100 possessions while shooting an effective field goal percentage of 55.8%. Brooklyn won't see the foul line often, but the Nets are active on the offensive glass.
With the Hawks allowing 29.8% of offensive rebounds, the Nets should have success on the glass to earn second chances. Atlanta has also allowed 118.3 points per 100 possessions and has given up a 57.5% effective field goal percentage. That rate is 28th in the NBA.
On the other hand, the Hawks are one of the best offensive teams in the NBA. They've scored the third-most points per 100 possessions in the NBA with 120. Atlanta will also do a great job at limiting turnovers and has earned a 23.3 free throw rate with 31.1% of offensive rebounds.
Brooklyn isn't a bad defense. However, the Hawks continue to play in high-scoring games with their fantastic offense and subpar defense.
I'll grab the Over 242.5 in this one.
Bet: Over 242.5 (-110)

NHL Best Bets

Pittsburgh Penguins @ Tampa Bay Lightning
The NHL action gets underway out east, as the Penguins make the trip to Florida to take on the Lightning. The Pens enter this contest at 11-10-3, while the Bolts are currently 11-10-5. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET from Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla.
Pittsburgh hasn't played great hockey recently, winning just three of their last 10 games. Interestingly, one of the three wins was against Tampa Bay (4-2) on Nov. 30. Despite the head-to-head win, I will ride with the Lightning here, as they look to pick up their second straight victory. They've played well at home this season, going 7-3-3.
Statistically, Tampa Bay has been the better offense this year. They're currently 11th in goals per game (3.3) and boast the league's second-best power play (31.03%). Conversely, Andrei Vasilevskiy has still been finding his groove since returning from surgery. But, the Russian netminder has been lights out in two home starts this year, posting a 1.52 GAA and .943 SV%. The Lightning should cruise to a home victory if he brings his best tonight.
Bet: Tampa Bay Lightning Moneyline (-130)
