WNBA Best Bets, Picks & Predictions: Thursday (6/15)

We’ve got a three-game slate in the WNBA tonight.

However, only two of the three games will likely have closer outcomes. So we’ll break down the two more competitive games of the slate.

There’s still profit to be made in basketball this season!

Thursday’s Best WNBA Bets

All wagers are for 1 unit | Odds courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook

Atlanta Dream at Connecticut Sun

The Atlanta Dream are only 3-5 on the season. They’ll hit the road to take on an 8-2 Connecticut Sun team. The Sun have won four of their last five games, including a road win against Atlanta. Connecticut scored 89 points in a double-digit win against the Dream just four days ago.

Meanwhile, the Dream have lost three of their last four games. But they’re coming off a win against the Liberty on the road, 86-79. That was an impressive win for the Dream. The Dream played that game two days ago, giving the Sun more time to prepare for this game.

The Sun out-shot the Dream from the field in their previous matchup. Both teams were dreadful from downtown, however, the Sun had 11 more shots thanks to forcing Atlanta into 26 turnovers.

In Atlanta’s win over the Liberty, the Dream still had 17 turnovers. So that’s an area that will haunt them moving forward and one of the top reasons why they’re a below .500 team. The Dream average 83 points per game which is more than the Sun this season. The defense also dominates the glass but still gives up 85.4 points per game.

Atlanta has enough to beat any team in the league on any given day. However, the Sun typically gets the job done at home and will likely shoot at a higher percentage.

Therefore, I’ll ride the Over 163.

Bet: Over 163 (-110)

Indiana Fever at Chicago Sky

In the first meeting between the Fever and Sky, the Sky defeated the Fever, 108-103 in overtime. Alanna Smith forced overtime with a buzzer-beater in the closing seconds. It was a terrific game between two mediocre teams.

Both teams shot over 50% from the field, even with the overtime period. The Fever and Sky also shot above 40% from downtown, and each took around 20 threes in that game. However, the Sky took three more shots and limited turnovers to just five in that game, while the Fever had 16 turnovers.

Indiana will be better in the paint, but the Sky will do more damage in the fast break. Indiana is also second in the WNBA in rebounds per game with 37.2. The rebounding is what helped the Fever stick around in that game, but the Sky still ended up pulling through.

Chicago has lost its last two games by double-digits. Both games were on the road against the Sparks and Aces. Indiana’s Aliyah Boston has averaged nearly 15 points per game. Against Chicago, she scored a season-high 25 points on 12-for-15 from the field. Meanwhile, Marina Mabrey of the Sky has averaged over 16 points per game and scored 28 against Indiana after shooting 9-for-15 from the field.

This is another game that should be close and high scoring. The Sky will take advantage of fast-break points while the Fever will be better on the glass and earn more points in the paint. Grab the Over in this one too.

Bet: Over 157 (-110)
