Dallas Wings (+320) at Minnesota Lynx (-430) | O/U 164 (-108/-112)
The Wings (3-9) and Lynx (10-3) meet in Mondayâs standalone game on the WNBA slate. The Wings have been clipped in seven straight games, last winning outright on May 26 in Los Angeles. In addition to seven straight losses, Dallas has failed to cover each of the past six outings, too.
These teams met June 2 in the Twin Cities, with the Lynx coming away with an 87-76 win as 6.5-point favorites as the Over (162.5) connected, ever so slightly. For the Wings, Monique Billings went off with 19 points and 15 rebounds on 9-of-14 shooting, while adding three assists and a steal with one 3-pointer. Arike Ogunbowale had a solid scoring night, going for 21 points with six assists, six rebounds, and six steals, but she also turned it over 10 times.
The Wings shot 46% (30-of-65) from the field while hitting 36% (4-of-11) from behind the 3-point line. They were also a very solid 86% (12-of-14) from the free-throw line, but the key was turning it over 25 times. That simply will not do against anybody.
The Lynx faced a minus-7 rebounding differential, but they turned it over 15 times, making Minnesota plus-10 in turnover margin. Minnesota saw star Napheesa Collier go for 24 points with 14 rebounds in 37 minutes while posting a plus-23 rating. She also had four assists, three steals, and a blocked shot. Kayla McBride was good for 25 points, and she knocked down five of those 3-pointers while hitting 6-of-7 from the charity stripe.
Dallas has scored 81 or more points in three of the past five games while allowing 81 or more points in six straight games, and 10 of the past 11 outings. The Wings rank No. 11 in scoring defense, allowing 85.9 points per game (PPG), while checking in 9th in the W with a 44.3% defensive field-goal percentage. The one thing Dallas does well is hold teams down from behind the 3-point line, limiting teams to just 31.1% shooting from the perimeter.
The Wings are a decent shooting team at 43.8%, ranking 4th in the league, but theyâre also a dismal 27.7% from behind the 3-point line to rank last in the league. Dallas is 2nd in the W with an 84.5% free-throw percentage, which is pleasing to Over bettors, since the Wings donât leave a lot of points on the floor, at least at the stripe.
Minnesota has won three straight games, and it is 6-1 straight up and 5-2 against the spread (ATS) in the past seven outings. The Lynx are good for at least 80 points on offense in seven straight outings, but the defense has held teams to 76 or fewer points in five of those seven contests. The Under holds a slight 4-3 edge.
The Lynx is doing well at both ends of the floor. Minnesota ranks 2nd in the WNBA with 86.2 PPG, while ranking tops in field-goal percentage (46.4%) and 3-pointer percentage (40.7%). Defensively, the Lynx are allowing just 76.0 PPG to rank 2nd while checking in No. 1 in both defensive field-goal percentage (40.0%) and defensive 3-pointer percentage (27.8%).
The best bet is playing the Lynx to get the job done by at least double digits. The Wings are scuffling lately, while Minnesota has lit it up, and is among the best teams in the W. Weâll lean low on the total, too, as Minnesotaâs defense is top-notch.
For an added bonus, roll with Monique Billings to score over 10.5 Points (-118) for a potential Same Game Parlay (SGP) with the side and total. Napheesa Collier To Record a Double-Double (-175) is also a strong play as a standalone prop play.
WNBA Picks: Lynx -9.5 (-108), Under 164 Total Points (-112), Monique Billings Over 10.5 Points (-118) & Napheesa Collier To Record a Double-Double (-175)
