WNBA Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (6/18)

The 2024 WNBA is in full swing and I will be here breaking down the top picks on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays this season. Join me as we build our bankrolls this summer!

Hopefully you were like me and took the Father’s Day gift from Vegas of the Liberty Moneyline being at +114 against the Aces. Just one more proof to my maxim this season: If you can get plus-odds on the Liberty and there is still time left for them to win, take it.

Here are my top WNBA picks for Tuesday, June 18 in this two-game slate.

Tuesday’s Best WNBA Picks

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

New York Liberty (-5.5) at Phoenix Mercury (+210) | O/U 166 (-110/-110)

Brittney Griner has been on an absolute scoring tear since her return from a toe injury that cost her the first three weeks of the season. In her first four regular season games, Griner is averaging 22 points on 62.9% (34-of-54) shooting from the field. She has increased her scoring in each game (11, 24, 25, 28) and if you take away the outlier 11 points in her first game where she was limited to six shot attempts in 21 minutes, she is averaging 25.7 points on 16 shot attempts. Even against a defense like the Liberty, Griner and her 6’9 frame should still be able to drop 21 on this current run of hers.

Even after back-to-back nine rebound performances, last time out books had Griner’s line set at 7.5. The 11th-year pro out of Baylor cashed again with her third straight nine-rebound game. Today, the line is set to 8.5 which is right in line with her recent outings, and with the defense being played tonight likely equating to more missed shots and rebounding opportunities, she should be able to grab at least nine for her fourth game in a row.

Lastly, Jonquel Jones’ scoring line being set once again to 15.5 points, even at -125, is insane. The former MVP is coming off a career-high 34 points on Sunday against the Aces in Las Vegas, the city ironically continuing to undervalue the George Washington University product. Jones is 6-2 against this number in her last eight games and 8-5 against this number overall this season. One more trend in Jones’ scoring favor is her increased propensity to shoot from deep of late. After making 13 three-pointers in her first ten games, Jones has erupted for 13 three-pointers in her last four contests. During her current 4-game heater, JJ is 13-for-22 (59.1%) from deep and 36-of-54 (66.7%) from the field.

Bet on these two centers to get job done while battling it out in the desert tonight.

WNBA Picks: Brittney Griner Over 20.5 Points (-105), Brittney Griner Over 8.5 Rebounds (-120), Jonquel Jones Over 15.5 Points (-125)
