Tuesday’s Best WNBA Picks

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Seattle Storm (-8.5) at Los Angeles Sparks (+360) | O/U 162 (-110/-110)

Rickea Jackson has scored 12+ points in four of her last five games and seven of her last twelve. This has caused Vegas to finally adjust her line above 11.5 to 12.5. During those 12 games, she is 6-1 against this new 12.5 number when she sees at least 29 minutes. Jackson is 3-1 against this number in her last four home games dating back to June 9 against the Aces. She scored 16 points in just 23 minutes in that contest and is averaging 15.2 PPG in her last six games overall.

Jackson has only faced Seattle once in her young career and it did not go well. Back on June 11 in Seattle Jackson scored just three points on 1-of-8 shooting in just 16 minutes. Since that game, Jackson has gone 6-5 vs. 12.5-line while averaging 13.5 points in the 11 games since last playing the Storm.

Jackson started the season as the forgotten LA rookie, as the Tennessee star flew below the reader despite being a top draft pick. She has definitely begun to find herself as a pro and that should continue today in Los Angeles, despite the thought defensive opponent in the visiting Storm. This game will be a good measuring stick of where she is compared to a month ago.

WNBA Picks: Rickea Jackson Over 12.5 Points (-105)

Connecticut Sun (+160) at New York Liberty (-4) | O/U 153.5 (-112/-108)

As a bettor, I’m a dog who goes where he’s fed. Always have been and always will be. That being said, no one leaves a bowl out on the porch for me like Jonquel Orthea Jones.

JJ has pulled down double-digit rebounds in seven of her last nine games and in each of them she has also gone for at least 11, making her 7-2 against this 10.5 number in her last nine. She has also hit this number in three of her last four home games and is 4-1 vs. this number since the calendar flipped to July with the lone Under coming last time. However, that game was at Wintrust Arena in Chicago and it was the second half of a home & home so Chicago had just seen her two days prior when she dropped an 18-point/13-rebound double-double against Ms. Double-Double, herself, Angel Reese.

For what it’s worth, despite failing to cash this prop, Jones did shut down Reese and end her historic 15-game double-double streak so mayhaps the George Washington University Athletics Hall of Famer had other focuses than just securing rebounds that day. She also tied her second-highest assist output (7) this season and highest since dishing out eight helpers against the Sparks on June 20, falling just three assists and one rebound shy of a triple-double.

These two squads faced off in Connecticut last week and Jones pulled down 11 boards in 35 minutes. Jones has gone for 11+ rebounds in four of her last five home games and in a game featuring two of the best defenses in the W, there should be plenty of rebounds to be had.

WNBA Picks: Jonquel Jones Over 10.5 Rebounds (-130)
